  • Jorge Avila
"Nothing is dangerous out here to much gangs shootings almost every day you can’t even go outside and walk because either they could rob you or they could shoot you"
  • Trulia User
"I lived in this neighborhood for 2 years and it's very family oriented. The Mexican party experience is great! we love the music. The only negative aspect to this neighborhood is the amount of trash thrown on the ground in public areas."
  • Hailey F.
"People are always walking their dogs in this area, and is a really good community. Able to walk to close by a grocery stores and other shopping centers, most allow dogs also. Nice parks where your dogs can play and run around, nearby parks where kids also play so you can do both at once . Some owners may not like some of the stray dogs that roam around"
  • Cinthya C.
"This is an awful neighborhood full of trash and graffiti, I don’t like it at all. Too many tweekers digging through my trash and letting themselves in my back yard and shed. Not safe at all. "
  • Southcrest10
"I bought my house 5 years ago. I bought this little house because in San Diego, it is all I can afford. I did not want to be a condo or mobile home owner, I wanted a home. I keep property neat and clean to encourage my neighbors to do the same. I feel safe here, and I believe Cesar Chavez is a good elementary school."

"I USED TO LIVE THERE AND SEE IT MORE NOW THAN EVER THE CITY NEEDS TO IMPROVE MANY THINGS AND IT COULD BE A MUCH BETTER PLACE TO LIVE THE PARKS ARE HORRIBLE NO DOG PARKS IF YOURE A DOG LOVER FORGET IT NO WALKING TRAILS THE ONE THEY PUT IN CALLED CHOLLAS CREEK ON SOUTH 38TH STREET NEAR THE CHURCH IS HORRIBLE WEEDS TALLER THAN THE SIGNS THAT SAY IT IS A PARK EVEN I WOULD BE NERVOUS TO TRY AND ENJOY A WALK AROUND IT PEOPLE DUMP TRASH IN IT THAT DONE EVEN LIVE THERE THE AREA HAS CLEANED UP A BIT BUT STILL NEEDS MORE HELP FROM THE CITY,COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT SEEMS TO A WASTE FOR PEOPLE THAT LIVE THERE THEY DO NOT GET THE HELP THEY NEED FORM CITY OFFICIALS JUST PLAIN LIP SERVICE I HATE GOING TO VISIT FAMILY BECAUSE FO THAT I WISH MY PARENTS WOULD MOVE AND GET OUT OF THERE IF IT GOT THE HELP IT NEEDS IT WOULD BE A NICE PLACE TO LIVE THE SCHOOLS ARE HORRIBLE NOT A PLACE TO RAISE KIDS @ ALL"
  • M A.
"I moved here about 5 years ago. As all communities (low/high incomes) we have some problems but in general safety is good and the area is perfectly located (5 minutes to downtown, 8 min to Mission Valley and 15 minutes to the border) therefore restaurants and shopping are closed. There are many market stores with great prices (not vons or albertsons) There are two schools within a mile of my house and two parks where I play soccer in a legue. I never seen any gang fights or anything like that but random things every now and then. Community involvement, graffitti and cleanliness are areas that must improved but counting that this is a highly transti area (corner of 43rd and Gamma) and a block of a mayor market store and freeway entrance I think is reasonable.
