"food at night be great around d here. wonderful people and awesome food. served in a Latin dish and with love."
  • Alberto R.
"Very nice neighborhood. Everything is near : restaurants , grocery stores , pharmacies, supermarkets etc."
  • Ted R.
"I find the area pretty sketchy. Especially at night, not going to live here long since there was a drive by shooting down the street. "
  • Larry465934
"I have my own transportation. Depending on where I’m heading my commute is generally not long at all. If I decided to walk in any direction I can rage a store or grocery store after 5 to 15 minutes of walking."
  • Jjjbls
"There are no community events that I know of. I can only think of Providence water fires in the city. There is also the Dominican and Puerto Rican parades in the summer."
  • Jhonmanuel04
"Friendly neighborhood I lived here for three years have a nice park and school....................."
  • Jhon
"Park Festivals in the summer a lot of Spanish people from different races very good food and the vibes"
  • Juleidy G.
"Everyone knows each other here and grew up together it’s a historic area and people usually tend to stay in the area "
  • Cinthia P. L.
"Alot of bus stops. Almost every block. Easy access to Ripta and Kennedy Plaza. Alot of traffic during school days because of the amount of schools on the main mood. "
  • Aefeucht
"My Nieghbor hood is a mixed bag some lovely families with kids and some less than great stuff going on."
  • Itrudel420
"It can be noisy in the summer, but generally a safe area! I grew up in this neighborhood and just moved back a year ago. Unfortunately the school system does need help, overcrowding and no resources but the Charter schools in the area are like private schools, highly recommend. "
  • larry465934
"I lived in this for 8 months now. I’m still trying to get to know the neighborhood. Actually, the community seems to be a high crime area. Police are always in the area because of some type of law being broken. Apparently, this is definitely not a good neighborhood to bring up young children because of the crime rate of show of police. I stay in the house most of the time. If I’m not at work or on the road other then here I’m in the house."
  • Jessiicaxb
"The historic houses gives Elmwood the uniqueness I love. It’s a very good area and it’s very quiet. "
  • Erica D.
"It’s loud and very busy. Lots of stores and restaurants. It’s a city so that what you get I suppose."
  • Roselybencosme
"Very safe neighborhood I recommend this area to live and the people around thing the same as me I love it "
  • arobertson08
"I lived in the Elmwood Northern Historic District for 20 years. If you're the kind of person who values diversity - in race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and cultures, you will enjoy this community! Some of the most well-off families are Black or Latino professionals, or White ones. Great restaurants, nice family-owned ethnic stores, very Gay-friendly, terrific politics, walking/biking distance to Roger Williams Park. It was like living on the front lines of the World. Gives you a chance to really see how so many of our political decisions play out. (I was there for the influx of Southeast Asians after the Vietnam War, for example.) It was a great learning and living experience! I will never regret it! "
