2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI visited the school for the first time today, looking for options for my 5 year-old boy. I had the experience by phone first, the receptionist was cold, unfriendly, and not helpful at all. I found the same behavior in the women attending the front desk, they never greeted me, ignored me while I was there waiting for being "attended", kept chit-chatting and it took the 3 of them to be helpful at all. I hope the rest of the staff are not like this!Parent Review10y ago - New London High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNLHS has dramatically improved and is the highest performing urban high school in CT. My child is being challenged and I'm extremely pleased with the competent and caring staff! There are so many opportunities for my son to earn College credit. ECSU, Mitchell College, UCONN...to name a few, all offer courses at NLHS. My son will most likely earn 22 college credits by graduation! You can't beat that combined with the Whalers superior athletic program! Very pleased with this school.Parent Review10y ago - Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLiteral hell. Went here for 21-22, threatened with death from bullies on more than one occasion. Seen my classmates literally be tackled and chased by bullies and then they get in trouble for it. Administration doesn't do anything. The principle Mr V is clueless and barely knows how to do his job. They need new administration and security. I shouldnt have to go to school to feel like my life is in danger.Parents,Please send your children somewhere else.Student Review1y ago - Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent! Principal leads administrative team with positive energy; teachers are energetic and creative; all staff I have interacted with have demonstrated that they are happy to be at Winthrop. Student behavior expectations are clearly defined and consistently modeled and reinforced (my son has not experienced bullying). The PTO is well organized and very active, and interested parents may run for School Governance Council. So impressed with my son's progress in Kindergarten at Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School!Parent Review6y ago - Harbor School
