The education in minimal and the students are not cared for as they should (in regards to both their physical safety as well as emotional security). The staff are questionable and often have biases that continually affect their teaching. The worst part of my experience while at DHS was the prevalent sexism and racism amongst the staff members as well as the student body. Truly a horrible experience for myself, my siblings, and my family members. Our child is number one in their class at high school because the Pre-AP teachers set them up for success. Moreover, the principal is always a listening ear and cares about the children when it comes to academics, athletics, safety, special needs and extra curricular activities. The teachers, new principal and staff genuinely care about the students. I'm not sure what the review claiming they take tools away is considering students who are struggling are given extra help in small group or individually. "Short and sweet. Nothing is too far from anything else. The next largest city is Sherman, TX - a whopping 10 mile south of Denison. The traffic between here and there can be testy, but is rarely grueling."

"We have a great dog park in the middle of town. People are very friendly and have their dogs fenced. I have witnessed most dog owners have their dogs on leashes. There are various dog stations, like poop bags, downtown. The stores will put out a water bowl for the dogs. There’s a lot of things to do with your dog. They have a festival just for dogs in the spring. You can take your dog trick or treating and dress them up. I love living here with my family and three dogs. "
