"It’s very peaceful a lot of the time! Sometimes there will be fireworks around holidays and weirdos speeding, but other than that, it’s nice"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of people walk their dogs, very few pick up after them and most couldn’t care less about leash laws. It is quite unfortunate considering Chico is home to so many parks."
  • Joann.bettencourt
"Block parties, pot lucks, tight knit community. Cul de sac where kids can run and play while parents socialize."
  • Tommyross20
"-Farmers market -Local restaurants and taco trucks are some of the best food you’ll eat. -Being close to chico state campus adds being able to have a gym close by. "
  • Kim T.
"Lots of students, within walking area of college and downtown area. Definitely not for families, college life!"
  • Carmen
"Farmers market Bidwell Lots of outdoor activity and close to good schoolsAble to ride your bike anywhere from this point and close the hospital Chico state theater arts good culture character of homes in the area easy access to the freewaysIt is affordable for young families in a good place to raise childrenThis is a place someone would want to stay for the rest of their life even long after the children are gone and have finish school"
  • Bkeen19
"we do church events and help feed the homeless, we have a christmas and summer stroll down plumas street during their seasons, and walk to local gas stations. The community is calm and quite and it in the middle of the country. "
  • Joann b.
"The neighbors are super friendly. Great place to raise kids. Houses are custom, neighborhood is safe. Everyone knows each other. Lots of kids. The best neighborhood in Chico. "
  • rhs
"Good area for families and serious college students/young professionals. Its about a 15 min bike ride to the university/downtown & Chico high school. There is a small and clean park near by for dogs and a pretty good elementary school. An fancy Chinese restaurant and Omelette/Dining house is in a walking distance. Massage and spa near. But most of your entertainment needs will be downtown or on the east side of town which is still only a 10 min drive away or 15-20 biking (such as movie theaters). Not many college students live around here and the ones that do are pretty peaceful. The train is nearby but it is never bothersome and esplanade street can get crowded during 8am (work and highschool/univesity) and off hours 5pm. However, Chico "traffic" means it takes you 15 minutes instead of 10 mins to get across town. Which is honestly still pretty good compared to other cities."
