"I do not have any personnel knowledge of public transportation as I don’t utilize it but I do know there is a bus stop about a block from our residence. With the change in seasons and time change this weekend, people will be coming out as weather permits. There will a reunion of sorts since we’ve finally ventured out. In the Spring there will be garage sales, summer will have festivities all over the neighborhood & surrounding towns. Fall will welcome kids back to school & winter will have Christmas decorations & lights in the neighborhood "
  • Marcy Boyd
"Neighbors are all friendly. Summertime there are planned get together and spontaneous gatherings. Kids ride their bikes and the little ones ride trikes or big wheels. There is a mix or generations with young families up to retired people. "
  • Marcy Boyd
"Nice people, dog friendly and a bit older so kids not around much. Yards are kept up, snow removal becomes a commmunity affair unless snow large amount at one time. Then the paid snow removers are brought in. "
  • Tara Wilford
"Friendly, safe and easily accessible. It’s a bigger city with a small town feel in Iowa. Lots of great restaurants!"
  • JoAnna S Branquinho
"I’ve lived here 6 years and love it. The community involvement and report is literally everything we could want and more."
  • Treeamina Keyes
"I’ve been living here for a couple of months and it’s very quiet. The neighbors are very nice. They speak to you. I like it here. The kids are always outside playing which is nice the neighbors barbecue all the time."
  • Cynthia Van Den Baard
"This neighborhood, in some areas are great for kids and other areas, not so and in my neighborhood no parks or things to do for kids. "
  • Cynthia Van Den Baard
"Dogs not allowed in our HOA. I do see people walking their dogs in our neighborhood and they clean up after them. "
  • Aboum B
"I live there for 1 year and most of neighbors are friendly, the area is so quiet . I believe to be the same in the future. My friends also are planing to move in this area , they love it. "
  • Debra Rosemary Gagnon
"I love the old, beautiful homes... There's plenty of awesome people living in them, too. My kind of people. ❤️"
  • Trulia User
"Even though it's a family oriented neighborhood, ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE, WHO THEY'RE WITH, THE ROUTE THEY ARE TO TAKE TO GET BACK HOME, AND DO SURPRISE CHECKS ONCE IN AWHILE! That's what kept me on my toes!!!! "
  • Trulia User
"I've grew up in the country I also have lived in town I lo I live downtown I get along with everyone"
  • Trulia User
"Neighborhood block parties are fun. It's a chance to meet new people and their families. The kids can maybe find new playmates."

  • Trulia User
"it's not a safe neighborhood. there are gunshots on a weekly basis. I do not recommend anyone move to this area, especially if they have children. we have seen police presence, high speed chases, drug deals in the street, people walking their dogs off leash. it's not safe."
  • Julikrathje
"People's yards are large and well maintained as well as pride of ownership shows! Close to shops and restaurants but this neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors couldn't be friendlier."
  • Trulia User
"A dog park would be nice and trash cans and bags available through out the area so that dog owners can clean up "
  • Trulia User
"Very quiet and well maintained. Mostly older couples. Not a ton of younger kids but very kid friendly."
  • Trulia User
"Neighbors are friendly and kind. Neighborhood is great for taking walks and bike rides, and only a short 10 minute walk to Newbo. Pleasant neighborhood that I’ve enjoyed living in, however street lights are not always plentiful or working, so walks may be better taken during daylight. Really feel like this area is quaint and quiet, but just needs a little love from the city to give it a facelift. "
  • Trulia User
"I drive my own personal vehicle. It's not convenient or conducive to major travel in the town. During mid-day, the bus runs every hour. Also it's designed too serve certain neighborhoods"
  • Trulia User
"Mt mercy university has alot of events and shopping is close, hyvee, fairway, and lots of places to eat."
  • Trulia User
"lived her for 32 years and not many ever move...its whats called a pocket neighborhood which I guess is a good thing. our neighbors look out for each other. it's nice."
