5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've watched since one of my children started at Beacon last year, kids being bullied, not just by students but by teachers as well. My daughter was never personally bothered, but witnessed many incidents of disrespectful interactions started by rude comments from teachers about clothing, hair color or telling kids that are being bullied, and came to them for help and support only to be told, what they are going through isn't that bad and neither were the insults. Now on day two of this year, on a day with high heat index warnings, enough to cancel some sports practices at this very school, my son's gym teacher has the nerve to tell his students that he doesn't care if they are thirsty because once class is over they are no longer his problem, also just as a side note, the water fountains that were contaminated by the end of last year are either not fixed yet or broken, as all fountains on this record hot day were off and out of order the entire time the kids were at school today. The safety and security at this school is a joke and every example I've heard from many, many parents, it comes across as if this school allows it's more affluent students treat it's lower income students like garbage, and the teachers seem to follow those children's examples and make excuses for the bad behavior. This is unacceptable from any school.Parent Review7mo ago - Shields (Richard A.) Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible, horrendous, absolutely disgusted with this school. As a matter of fact I cannot think of one nice thing to say about it. The education was poor, the verbal attacks are ignored, the teachers are second rate at best, this school is the bottom of the bottom.Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 33707 Skiff Aly #303.

"I love near the beach, so I usually just drive there. Others often choose to take the city bus in the summer, because the traffic is outrageous. Taking the bus is faster in the summer. "

"other dog walkers are friendly and willing to talk to each other. Dogs are friendly to non dog workers so people in general have friendly dogs. There are plenty of common areas where dogs can play without having to use a neighbor's yard."

"Found these houses at the edge of the historic district, off the beaten path. They have all the plusses of downtown Lewes, without any traffic or busybodies. Fun, interesting architecture. "

"This is a great beach town with small town charm. Missing are the lines of beachfront hotels and rental properties for a beach front state park and locally owned stores in small town. You will love the quaintness and history of Lewes Delaware. "

"My parents have a house in Lewes and Ive been visiting the area since i was born. I love this historic, all-American beach town with all my heart. It has changed alot (for the better) since I started vacationing/visiting down there. I would love nothing more than to bring my children up in Lewes Beach. So many thing for people of all ages to do like fishing, swiming, all kinds of sports, history tours and many other things to do, so many that I would need a week to list all of them. If youre looking for a place to vacation, settle down or retire this is the place to do it. Take a trip to Lewes and you WONT be dissapointed if youre a relax near the water kind of person. Even if youre not its still a great place. By the way I know of no gravel pit in Lewes nor have I ever heard of any crime at all. As a matter of fact they dont even need police in the area because nothing bad ever happens there its like it is shielded from the rest of the crumby world. Im not a real estate agenet or affiliated with the town at all. I live in NJ, im 35 and just love Lewes Beach! "
