This school has FAILED my child. My child is currently enrolled in 4th grade with SJoyce and as the parent of a special needs student, I am deeply disappointed by both the teachers conduct and the schools handling, or lack thereof, regarding any concerns. My child expressed discomfort and distress due to a clear lack of empathy, understanding, and proper training on how to properly support students with special needs. Despite bringing these concerns forward, the response from both the school administration as well as the district was slow, dismissive and utterly lacking in urgency. Emotional and physical safety should never be negotiable, yet it felt like the needs of my child were treated with utter disregard and as an afterthought. The involved teacher failed to demonstrate the professionalism and care that all students, especially those with unique learning needs, deserve. It is HIGHLY unacceptable that any student should feel unsafe or unsupported in a classroom. I expect far better from an institution tasked with educating and protecting our children. While I hope the school takes meaningful steps to address these gaps and lacks, I doubt they will. I would highly suggest NOT sending your special needs children here.

My children have excelled here. They have been able to take advanced classes like Algebra and Spanish.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience in this school district. The level of communication, accountability, and overall support for students and families is severely lacking. To make matters worse, I was sent to collections over a student book rental fee that should have been waived or free. This is not only unjust but speaks volumes about how poorly the district manages its policies and interactions with families.I tried to resolve the issue directly, only to be met with dismissiveness and a lack of transparency. Instead of focusing on supporting students, the district seems more concerned with nickel-and-diming families—often unfairly and without warning. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially from an institution entrusted with the education and wellbeing of children.I hope others take heed of this experience and that the district takes a serious look at how it treats the very people it’s meant to serve.

This school felt like a second home to me, everyone hung out with each other no matter who you were. My learning experience here was the best, I got to learn many things I always wondered about. My favorite lesson was about the Greek Gods and Goddesses. We did a project based on a God which was amazing. I enjoyed spending time with classmates and doing mini projects with them. Teaching/Education is very important here, all the staff make sure that each kid gets a good education without being confused. They explained everything clearly and made it more fun by doing activities based on the lesson. This helped me get good grades and memorize the important events. The staff make sure each student feels like they belong here and make sure no student feels left out. In my experience, I reported about a student making me feel uncomfortable and how they were talk about me. The staff helped me through it and made me feel more comfortable in my own body. They take the student's mental health and emotional well-being very seriously. Everyday I walked through the special needs classes and see how well they treat them. It makes me happy to see they get treated fairly instead of being left out. I've seen a review complaining about how student's go out to the hallways and talk to their friends during class, but it's not the teacher's fault is it? Teachers can control the student's work and what they do but they can't control how much they talk. The student has to learn to keep quiet and not skip class just to talk to friends.
