"You see people with their dogs walking around all the time. They are almost all welcome; all shapes and sizes."
  • Lindamia123
"Dogs are welcome and a lot of my neighbors have dogs. You are of course encouraged to clean up after your dogs but of course there are the few that believe they are above everyone else and don’t clean up after their dogs."
  • Taylor.97.kremer
"music in the park in July. Christmas tree lighting. founders day. small business Saturday. city wide garage sale."
  • Dee.erika.10
"Our community has a lot of seasonal events such as Halloween parties, summer pool parties, canned food drives... a lot of different things"
  • Alanafulton89
"Rush hour is very busy but otherwise enjoyable. One way in, one way out. Everything is within a few miles."
  • Jayne O.
"People walk their dogs all the time in this neighborhood and pick up after them. Friendly nice place to live. "

  • Alanafulton89
"Amazing community and neighborhood to raise a family. Always something family related to do and everyone maintains their house for the most part."
  • Donna L. R.
"We have lived here for twenty years. We have enjoyed many aspects of this neighborhood...Gilbert Willis Park around the block...the peace and quiet of a dead end street...it was a great place to finish raising our kids."
  • Cravee.syd
"it’s a good environment to be around and everyone is nice there is a great school system and different types of events go on"
  • Katrina W.
"Several events out together by our HOA each year—a roaming dinner, Halloween party and golf outing are the big ones. City of Wixom has concerts in the downtown area all summer long, plus fireworks for the 4th of July, skating at the city center in the winter, so lots of community events. "
  • Katrina W.
"Great events in downtown Wixom all summer long. Concerts, fireworks, etc. The city center is pretty accessible—the library, city offices and police station are all together in one area. In the winter they make the fountain into a free ice skating rink. Proud Lake Recreation Area is close by, as well as many parks with things like soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and baseball and softball fields. "
  • Katrina W.
"The elementary school is just out of the neighborhood and we often bike or walk, the teachers and other parents are incredible—a lot of community involvement! The families in our whole neighborhood (but especially our circle/Court) are fantastic. We have woods for the kids to explore, one neighbor built a tree house and zip line that all the kids go play on. Kids and adults all mingle and the kids take turns playing at everyone’s houses/yards. "
  • Donna L.
"I am retired so no daily commute anymore. But, easy access to expressways when needed. ............."
  • Annabeii
"Summer concerts, very clean and well kept town. They always decorate for the seasons and holidays and down town looks amazing with the fountain is nice"
  • Clan A.

"wixom is a nice small town that with beautiful homes, lots of restaraunts and stores but also has quiet areas. It's a great place to raise a family"
  • john p.
"I am admittedly bias. I have lived in Wixom for over 13 years. I wish it had a a better public transportation system but that is a complaint I have with Detroit in general. We are within minutes of Proud Lake State Park, Kennsington, 12 Oaks Mall, and Novi Expo Center. The schools are fantastic, an elementary school is within walking distance from my house. The city hold summer concerts in the park and a farmer's market. Our association has private access to a beach and playgrounds and very low dues. Residents care for their yards and very friendly. "
  • wixomslim
"THE best area to have peaceful, lake area living--- but still close to shopping, restaurants, etc"
  • john p.
"The neighborhood is incredible. Lake access for swimming during the summer and skating in the winter. Walking distance to school. Close access to freeways and stores. Some of the top rated schools in the nation. Safe neighborhood Reasonable taxes Well run city government"
  • beanbag9
"Nestled on the southern shore of Loon Lake, only 78 homes in Loon Lake Woodlands have privilege to use to the community beach and the community boat launch facility to gain access to the beautiful 75 acre all-sports lake. The subdivision is gorgeous, family-friendly, walkable, well maintained, quiet, strong sense of community, with a golf course and city park just down the street. The City of Wixom has many community events and provides excellent services. The school system has won many Blue Ribbon Awards for Excellence. One look and you'll know why everyone wants to get into this subdivision."
