3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children who attend to the school for the last five years so I feel very confident in giving this review. Lakeridge elementary is not just a place where my kids go to learn, but it’s a place for family and community. Sending my children away from me for eight hours should be a lot more scarier than it is. Because of Lakeridge elementary staff and teachers it’s not. I have different staff members checking in with me constantly letting me know how great my kids are doing or things that they feel concerned about. One of my children uses the pronouns they/them and was scared to use the bathroom. They didn’t tell me because I felt like this is just something they needed to deal with. A few staff members had noticed the hesitation and felt concerned and brought this to my attention. Sure enough, my kid agreed with what the staff was telling me. I emailed the principal that night and not only got an email back from him but also a text message telling me they were going to fix this immediately. The principal told me that every child deserves to feel safe and happy to be at school and that’s the environment he wants to create. I just about cried. Lakeridge elementary is a place we can trust to grow our children in all the ways necessary. Everyone is joyful to be there, kids AND staff.Parent Review5mo ago11 Reviews - Renton Senior High School

"Small, winding roads- don't have the kids playing outdoors or walking home after dark. it's really pretty and the neighbors can be nice, not many parties or loud traffic in most of the inner communities or apartment complexes. "

"It is a wonderful community to grow up in. Some of the families in this area have been here for decades and absolutely take pride in the community that they have helped to cultivate. "

"There are gun shots and home break-ins reported weekly in this neighborhood. This area is in Renton school district, but not assigned schools do not have great reviews."

"I don’t think it is necessarily the best place to live if you have children, but it isn’t the worst either. Every now and then, there’s gun shots and some kind of violence. The skyway park has been recalled for a few years now and was supposed to be rebuilt February 2019, and it never happened. Skyway is cheap to live in, but it isn’t necessarily worth it "

"I travel up MLK to I-5...you can imagine it’s not scenic it’s functional at best. There’s basic amenities with lots of road construction as the neighborhood is going thru it’s regrade process. "

"Lots of crime, lots of homeless and drug addicts. Constantly having people yelling, hearing gunshots. Skyway is not a good neighborhood to live in with a family."

"The area has a private pool club that offers tennis courts and an outdoor pool and recreation for families. It is close enough to the Renton Landing to find a gym, food and local shopping. Downtown Renton has great Antique stores and is a stroll from the past with friendly people. The Renton Community has a weekly farmers market all summer with fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally and a fantastic Community Center with an outdoor poor and lazy river and exercise facilities. Places to walk and ride your bike in the area are abundant. "
