There are some great teachers in this school, but an ineffective principal is what keeps this school from becoming great. This "leader" makes $150,000+ salary, and drives expensive cars, which shows how out of touch she is when almost half of the students in this building are considered "economically disadvantaged". Additionally, the principal treats certain teachers/staff with disdain and in an unprofessional manner; but will allow those she likes to get away with just about anything... these are not good characteristics of a strong leader. It's disgraceful and something needs to be done, but the district level administration won't do anything because they are just as corrupt. I would advise any family to stay far away from this school and Wappingers in general. They are behind the times, and will continue to be as long as these type of people remain in charge.

Pretty bad school. Mid funding so not the worst looking school but they offer NOTHING fun to do, no game nights, the environment and vibe is ugly and super grim, theres no courtyard hangout area vending machine dark room or anything it sucks. The staff in my opinion has a bias against students who arent white males, I once had an emergency and told them that very clearly and the staff did nothing. I have type 1 diabetes and my level was low which could cause me to pass out go into a coma or die, and the staff refused to let me into the school because I "didn't have a pass" I got a pass and they still refused to let me in. The staff doesnt care or make exceptions for geniune emergencies and they generally make everything impossibly annoying for the students. You're done with regents? nah cant go home no busses to take you home and if you go home you're gonna fail, oh you wanna walk around during study hall or when you have lunch? Nope cant do that either you cant even hangout. You need a pass just to be in lunch and they'll mark you late for lunch, you need an ID to GET INTO THE CAFERTERIA, no not the school, THE CAFETERIA, you cant make this up! Knowing this school theyd probably revoke your diploma just cause you didnt shake the principals hand when walking across the creaky stage.

My son has had an amazing transition to Wapp Jr. The teachers have been extremely helpful and supportive.
