I attended Center School from 2013-2017, and might I say that it thoroughly shaped me into a headstrong and socially intelligent individual. I know for a fact that every other person in my graduating class would say the same. The experience at this school expands far beyond academia, and you are given a beautiful, fulfilling experience about what it really means to be a good person. Being in such a tightly knit community guarantees that every single student will make very memorable bonds with all sorts of people. While at the same time, we get some of the highest test scores in the state. Although, you only fully realize what incredible place it is once you've left because then, you fully realize how much it has changed you. Thinking back to my first day here, I was extremely introverted, and I didn't know how to raise my head up and look people in the eyes. Now I am on my way to college to major in Public Relations.The teachers at Center are (for the most part) true gems. They are incredibly authentic people who go above and beyond to see kids become wonderful students, and more importantly, quality people. Some of the best teachers I had have now since retired, but I am sure that anyone who goes to Center will find themselves an experience just as meaningful and enriching. Parents, at times you may be left wondering what on earth they are having your kids doing, but believe me, it's for a very good reason.

I attended Global Learning Collaborative and my experience was deeply troubling. The school consistently failed to support students with different abilities — accommodations were minimal or nonexistent and staff often dismissed students’ needs. Respect and professionalism felt absent: teachers and administrators were frequently disrespectful toward students and parents. Most alarmingly, the gym teacher repeatedly used highly offensive language toward female students. His in-class music choices are also inappropriate for a school setting (I have video evidence).I reported problems multiple times, but the response was inadequate and dismissive. I don’t feel this environment is safe or nurturing for learners, especially those who need extra support. Families should be aware and ask detailed questions before enrolling. I sincerely hope the district investigates these issues and takes decisive action to protect students.
