"The vibe here on the island is peace, relaxation and fun. everybody seems to have a boat and everyone seems to love fishing. Lots of great restaurants to eat at and able to go to by boat. Most people here are adults and they are very few children except for some grandchildren."
  • Eugeneb
"All kinds of events and special festivals too many to list here. Parades, dinners, flea markets, fishing tournaments."
  • K R.
"We have an American Legion, VFW and a Moose and Elks. There is always things to do and good meals to eat."
  • Eugeneb
"Block parties and many other events, fishing tournaments, fund new raisers and festivals. Parades celebrations of all the holidays. Flea markets and secondhand stores."
  • Eugeneb
"Everyone is friendly it’s like living in Mayberry. Very safe no crime. It’s just the most wonderful place to live."
  • Jessica G.
"Everyone walks their dogs here at least once a day. There are a lot of old dogs, so puppies need to be careful. Dogs must be on a leash in this area and there’s no real dog park nearby. There are snakes and gators in and near wooded areas, so be aware!"
  • Theislandretreat
"If you are really looking for somewhere to get away from it all, Pine Island is the place. There are ZERO traffic lights, it's quiet, and there are no high rises or major commercial outfits on the island. This island was thankfully left alone in the ramping up of virtually every other developed coastline. You hear and see the bald eagles, seahawks, pelicans, dolphin and manatee, something again which is rare in other communities. Tropical nurseries populate the island, the fishing is out of this world and the rest you get from the hustle and bustle is unmatched. Though remote, you have everything close by that is a necessity or recreationally wanted: your island grocery store, hardware store, liquor store, a few banks, a gas station, art galleries, more than 12 restaurants and bars dot the island, 4 marinas, 2 day spas, more than a few bait/tackle shops, kayak/bicycle/boat rentals, and the island is also home to the most preserves in the Southwest area which affords great hiking and exploring."
  • Chris A.
"Pine Island is one of the true "old Florida" spots left. We are a srtong comunity that supports each other you will not fined the chain stores, resturants,or big box stores out here only your neighbors and NATURE."
  • Carl J.
"If it's nature and peace you are after, check out St james City, Florida. Located on a tropical island called Pine Island on the southern end. The last undeveloped island in florida."
