Hawthorne has had a bad image in the past, but it has done wonders to turn it around. There are many programs in place dedicated to supporting students and their needs. Some of these programs include after-school tutoring, therapy, intervention specialists, ELD support, AP classes, academies, etc. The school district also offers teachers regular professional development (some required and some optional). The majority of teachers on this campus are passionate educators who truly care about the students. For the most part, the students at the school are happy to be here and ready to learn.

Not so good of a reputation so it was scary to enroll my son here but it’s actually a great school. My son has told me he gets along very well and very little to none bullying you see. I’ve met the teachers they are very nice and so is the staff. Teachers are strict though but it’s a good school.

I am very concerned for mine and any child’s safety at this school. My child got bullied, called racial slurs and was harassed by the soccer team. I am very disappointed in the school system not protecting my child in need especially when reaching out for help. There needs to be repercussions for the actions of the soccer team. Parents please keep your children safe!!!

Horrible School, my child's in the 3rd grade and the teacher yelled and broke her pencil. Yes he was thatangry.

It is a good school good learning

This school does not push the kids. My son went to Kit Carson for 2 years. His 2nd grade teacher's assignment were all over the place. Kids need structure. That's why the CST Scores are so poor.
