Terrible administrators (especially the assistant principals) and lots of miscommunication from that team. There are a couple of teachers that we love though. There are so many reviewers glazing this school, but don’t let it fool you. Sure, wonderful academics, it definitely prepares kids for college. And then what else. That’s where it stops. Lots of kids have gaps in academic needs, especially those with learning disabilities. As I already mentioned, terrible communication from school admin. They’re very wishy-washy with decision making and rules. I wish we were zoned to Elkins instead.

Had multiple issues with this school. In several cases, they did not take the situation with my child seriously and even condemned my child although other students were at fault. Seems they like defending the students who wronged others and even harmed them, not the students who just want to be left alone. Honestly, my child’s mental health worsened at Settlers Way Elementary School. I would not recommend it to other parents. Some teachers also don’t know how to handle students that are troublemakers in class.

This school is the worst in the area. Starting by the new principal Petru, she is not doing her job. I know a lot of parents whose children are being bullied (one of their children was sent to the hospital because this kid hit her, a BOY hit a GIRL, can you believe that?) and what's their response? If the victim is touched by the aggressor again, the VICTIM HAS TO GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL. Do y'all think that is fair????????? Oh I have heard that Jennifer Petru was a mess and when she was assigned a middle school somewhere in Sienna Plantation, she failed!!!!!
