Atha Road Elementary is a great local school within the Walton County School District. It feels like a small-town school and all staff are easily reachable. We have had no issue contacting our kids' teachers when necessary. When a situation arose once, we contacted the school to understand the details. We received a phone call back from the principal within an hour on a Friday afternoon. There is an assigned WCSO deputy that ensures safety. Families are encouraged to take part in their kid's activities and ceremonies. Overall, a great elementary school.

As a current student that goes to YMS i would say overall this is a good school. Although there are some bad things that I've experienced attending this school. First the students here 50% of them are good and kind, and the other 50% are mean cruel and bad. Some students have made gun treats to this school, being racist and a whole bunch of the white kids say the n-word and discriminate. Bullying not so much and its not tolerated. About the gun treats here it does get handled immediately. It doesn't matter if you make a threat outside of campus or on campus you will get in trouble right away. There was a kid who made a threat to the school and immediately got expelled and had to go to alternative school, and couldn't come back until the next school year. Things, like bullying, threats, bringing drugs or vapes to school gets handled pretty well. Our school also has a good safety system, and take practice tests to prepare if ever happens.But overall I do recommend this school teachers and staff are kind, they come to school to teach your kids not just for the pay check. When your kid attends this school they will likely make some good friends here, and the teachers are very welcoming. To sum everything up this is a pretty enjoyable school.
