The school is ok. Some legal issues going on right now that are questionable. I am only giving 3 stars, mostly due to the transportation department. Rude, lazy, incompetent people running that department. I honestly believe it is fueled by discrimination, which I assumed wouldn't be a problem in Mason. The school boasts diversity and inclusion. Actions speak louder than words.

So far the experience has not been good, granted my child is just now finishing kindergarten so hoping for a better experience next year. My child should not be yelled at to the point of tears, rather the educational environment should be supportive. My child's paper was snatched from her by the teacher and crumpled up. When confronted, the teacher adamantly denied doing so and instead blamed it on the child when these behaviors had been observed previously with other students. Children being left in the hallway for the majority of the day as well as missing art/music/recess etc because the teacher is unable to effectively communicate the expectations for the assignment. Additionally, leadership is sorely lacking at this school as there appears to be little oversight of the teachers. Minimal communication with the parents even when the child goes to the office after getting hurt. Also, the phrase "sometimes parents think they know what is best for their children when they really dont" should not come out of the principles mouth. Not sure any other school is any better as public education needs a complete overhaul however the lesser of two evils is still an evil and this school leaves a lot to be desired.

very very terrible, negative 7 out of 10
