"Garden District Association events such as the Halloween Under the Oaks route and catered party in the yard of a Garden District home with massive oak trees, Garden District Fall Affair at famed Commander’s Palace, Garden District Jazz and Juleps again in the landscaped yard of a beautiful GD home; Garden Club events throughout the year i with food, drinks and a lectures And of course about 30 Marci Gras parades on St Charles Avenue during Carnival season right here in the neighborhood "
  • Ardewitt2
"Nothing that I can think of. It’s not very safe, so most people stay inside a lot of the time. Second lines maybe?"
  • Trulia User
"I don't know about this part of the city. but it's close to downtown CBD. so it's convenient if working downtown "
  • Trulia User
"easy commute just 10 minutes from CBD. your 30 minutes from street car and on 2 Bus line that also heads to both arenas. "
  • Trulia User
"it's a great neighborhood very dog friendly not far from plamer Park and rite off the street car line "
  • Unspecified
"The area is safe and a family area. Neighbors are really nice and look out for one another. Kids are able to play outside at the playground without any issues. Safety is important "
  • Shaneclancy76
"My neighborhood is close to downtown you can walk a lot of places. I currently have no car but I can still walk to the closest Rouses in 10 minutes and carry my groceries home. If you’re a sport fan you can walk to the Superdome and when Mardi Gras is on all I have to do is walk outside my building and I’m in the heart of the parade "
  • Dobrezcj
"Central city is a great centrally located neighborhood. OC Haley has really started to develop with wonderful locally owned shops and restaurants. Living in central city is perfect blend of everything New Orleans has to offer! "
  • Jorge C.
"There aren’t any tourist around and if one of them accidentally books an airBNB here. They’re normally targets when walking around drunk in the middle of the night"
  • Mporycki
"There are no community specific events that I’m aware of aside from an occasional second line, or Mardi Gras parade. "
  • Chad A.
"Many breeds are welcomed and live in the area. Several people do not scoop and pick up behind them while walking them. "
  • Tinglersuzi
"there are bus stops everywhere and the streetcar runs 24 hours too. street parking is almost always available for my car. But, walking around ny yourself is a little sketchy tho- especially at night. "
  • Suzi T.
"Lots of parades for Mardi Gras! So many great restaurants and cool old mansions. Very centrally located and close to street car too."
  • Suzi T.
"I see lots of people walking dogs. Also there is not too much traffic on the side streets. Lots of cats wandering around if your dog likes that!"
  • Anoopkar
"Dangerous dangerous dangerous,! We’ve gotten our cars broken into twice, car stolen once and we are heckled constantly by homeless people when we go outside to walk our dog"
  • Adamdamore
"LYFT only. It is too unsafe to walk, bus, or drive in Central City New Orleans. With LYFT I do not need to walk alone outside or risk an automobile."
  • Darnellhulbert
"it's ok in this neighborhood most people are friendly yet keep to themselves close to shopping and the RTA"
  • Sarah C.
""eclectic" also known as "teetering on gentrification." Not bad south of Barronne, definitely not a walk home tipsy and alone kind of place."
  • Destiny l. j.
"I've lived in the neighborhood for almost 3 years and am friendly with the neighbors. And there's a park catta corner to my home now... "
  • Sunny M. T.
"There's beautiful architecture and an interesting culture and general vibe to the neighborhood. There's always music coming from somewhere and your neighbors are never afraid to say hey"
  • Cassidyholden
