8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMemorial truly prepared me academically. Couldn't have asked for a better education, and in that regard it definitely deserves 10/10. I've had university classes easier than classes I took here. I would feel very comfortable sending my child here. The main downside is the cliques, and the difficulty I've seen new students have trying to make friends. Many people in Eau Claire have lived here for generations and though it's a large town, everyone still manages to know everyone--especially because the south side (54701) and the north side (54703) are virtually different towns completely. There's also a slight drug problem and some people complain of a lack of friendliness. Move here when your kids are young and get them involved in activities and you should be fine.Other Review7y ago - North High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school at least for the 2-3 years I've been here has been pretty below mediocre. Every class feels redundant and overstated except for Personal Finance (the only class I have personally experienced and found engaging). While the school offers a wide variety of classes, there is little room to pick the ones you would like. The most popular classes like Tech Ed are never available, and you are not able to find out what you are getting into prior to signing up. You are given a general overview, but never the teachers, environment, etc.Do not have your child go here if you want them to have access to a bathroom. Bathrooms are always closed, destroyed, missing both stall doors, locks, etc. It's so bad that you have to sign out whenever you use the bathroom - but even with those precautions, bathrooms are still closed and makes drinking water before school risky. I have seen 1 drug deal, 1 student who was super high, about 9 times where there was vape smoke in the bathroom, and twice where students in the bathroom are skipping class, even with regulations put in place. I even had to leave school once to use a bathroom. The hallway is a massive problem. At many intersections, the people who plan out what class order you have is absolutely terrible, so traffic in the hallway can feel like walking through a buffalo stampede at any time. Also, not sure if this is a thing at other schools, but there is a massive loitering problem here. Many times students will just be straight up blocking entrances, walking super slow, while gossiping and looking at phones. Some even do a 180 turn in the hallway and get frustrated when they get ran into.Overall, I give this school a 2/5. Management seems professional, but never does anything to solve problems. It seems that intimidation is the only thing that they have under their belt, because they never enforce anything. The community sucks, as expected from this generation currently (I am 17 as of writing this) and is loudmouthed, annoying, and screams entitled. Your child may also be sold drugs here, and is subject to unfair gatekeeping of bathrooms. Also, they have threatened to expel you if you have your phone out in class. But hey, they probably won't.This school is a prime example of why your child probably doesn't want to wake up in the morning. It's a terrible experience to be here - and they can't change that.As Niccolò Machiavelli once said, "It is better to be feared than to be loved, if one cannot be both.Student Review1y ago - Lakeshore Elementary School
