"Broken glass on the sidewalk, uneven sidewalks, vacant lots, stray cats roaming the area. Some homeowners do not shovel their part of the sidewalk"
  • Denise Lesley
"Up and coming area but still needs a lot of work! Close to public transportation, park, the Garfield Conservatory. "

  • Trulia User
"It's way better than it used to be back in the day. Lots of shops & restaurants within walking distance is nice. Very kid friendly with decent schools & cute playgrounds/parks."
  • Trulia User
"I just work in the area, I do not live in it. It is currently in a gentrification phase and varies tremendously block by block. "
  • Trulia User
"No certain breeds are not excepted, they have restrictions on breeds. Just areas not friendly to renting with dogs."
  • Trulia User

"we have food drives , clean up projects, bbq's for the community , community intervention, safe passage. block clubs and weekend gatherings "
  • Kelly2melis
"Dog walking is not a issue in this area. Most dog owners are frequently seen with their dogs. Almost everyone picks up after their dog. There's a few bad apples but not often."
  • Kenya J.
"Not a lot of places for your dog to curb. But overall enough sidewalk to walk your dog. Decent neighborhood "
  • Idaderrintong

  • Laila C.
"It is horrible and bad and dangerous. There are people blasting music all night long and screaming . And people fighting and gun shots "

  • Trulia User
"This is not the best area but I can see some changes about to take place in the area. The parks are no longer safe for kids to play in it. The schools are not that good either."
  • Noshodbarr
"nothing its not a good place to walk your dog. maybe if you go to the park but that's about it. it's bad it's not good"

"It’s no safe......at all. It’s a very dangerous neighborhood. A lot of shootings happen here. A lot of drug activity. Things that are frowned upon."
  • Quishasp07
"I live in the neighborhood 36yrs and this is home. Everyone knows each other and we look out for one another. Regardless of the crime rate we’re family in soooo many ways"
  • Unspecified
"It’s very dangerous, not kid friendly at all. Restaurants are filthy and it’s really sad how everyone forgot about this neighborhood."
  • S.G.
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 years. It’s come a ways and still up and coming. Investors are swooping in on properties knowing the west loop genre is moving even further west. Can’t wait to see the neighborhood flourish. "
  • Former Resident
"The horrible prostitution, drugs and shootings makes this area inhabitable for families raising their children. It may be improving, up and coming however it may take an entire childhood to do so and these aren’t the memories I want for my babies. "
  • Omega L.
"My neighborhood is close to public transportation and many schools You can have good restaurants and shopping for clothes and shoes nearby"
  • Doris T.
"There is a park in the community where they can walk and play ball with their dog. They will that others clean up behind their pets "
  • Kiowagray
"Easy access with the train and bus in relatively close proximity! Area close to train is well lit and also a popular station in which tourist are attracted to the Conservatory! The bus lines are a few blocks south on Madison street. Buses have great run times without extended waiting. There are also bike lanes available for those who rely on this form of transportation."
  • Iancapleton
"It’s more diverse these days. The closer you are to the Parker the better the atmosphere is. Condos are great in this area and grey stones are awesome."
  • Kiowagray
"The park area is very attractive for pets and pet owners. Also, our area seems to be relatively dog-friendly."
  • nonenone
"My neighbors are nice they look out for each other is only the people that don’t live here and come to hang around is what makes the neighborhood look bad other then that is ok "
  • Lia.edmonds13
"There is high gang activity and I think there is a prostitution house at the start of my street. Don’t ever move here unless it changes"
  • wisniren
"We are a diverse neighborhood and we look out for one another. As a mixed residential/ business area there is not a parking shortage."
