About this House

We are selling our home in the Seward neighborhood at the intersection of 25th street and 31st ave. The house was built in 1918 and is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home with a large fenced-in backyard. The front door leads into a large porch surrounded in double pane glass windows. The house faces the South, so it is flooded with natural sunlight. In the summer and fall, we are able to grow vegetables in the front and back yard. The living and dining room is a large open space that contains four windows, two of which are oversized and adorned with etched glass. The original glasswork, hardwood floors, floorboards, and window trimming give this home a charming Minneapolis feel. The living room connects to a hallway, bathroom, the downstairs bedroom, and the kitchen. Stairs in the kitchen lead to a master bedroom. There is also a pergola on the back porch for use in spring, summer, and fall. We are the third owners of this little charmer. It's about 900 sqft, not including the basement (unfinished) or yard. We just completed our in-housing inspection and have filed it with the city. The home has central AC and forced heat. The furnace and water heater were installed in the last 8 years.

The house is in a great location! It is about 1.5 miles from UMN and three blocks from the Seward Coop, the river and Greenway. We are moving out of state and would like to sell ASAP. Please contact us at brow3570@umn.edu if you are a buyer and are pre-qualified or will be pre-qualified soon. We have not listed the house but will list in early January with River Realty if no buyers come forward.

"I have lived in prospect park for 5 years now and it is absolutely the most charming and unique neighborhood in all of mpls. I love it. "
  • Carin B.
"Very cool, diverse and a wonderful sense of community. Unfortunately there is noticeable drug traffic and homelessness in the area. More resources would make this an even better place to live. "
  • Geisenm0205
"There are single family homes and is near a nice trail by the river. The families seem nice in the area and often seen walking around during the day. The shopping area is greatly affected by rioting damage. "
  • Kirsten C.
"it used to be quiet with lots of access to outdoor spaces. now most places are too dangerous to enjoy (i.e. homeless encampment in park) "
  • Ashea S.
"There are many dog owners and one small dog park. If you are at Mathews Park, they will ticket you if you have your dog off leash so beware. "
  • Swapnik S.
"Area close to franklin ave is a bit shady. Good location to commute from. Plenty of restaurants around."
  • Haydenishays
"Diverse and friendly. A little rough near franklin and cedar area. It’s not uncommon to find used needles in alleys and people digging through trash. There’s been quite a few car thefts lately too. But, that’s all near franklin and cedar. "
  • Pslaven33
"Folks are actively engaged in neighborhood groups, organizations, churches, and schools. we try to support the businesses around the neighborhood, because we want them to thrive. We try to be inclusive, as a community, because residents here come from many many different countries, cultures, and walks of life."
  • Sarasnater
"Diversity, artistic, affordable, and close proximity to many activities both community based and access to city events. "
  • theresa f. n.
"This is a fantastic location. Five blocks to LRT, one block to major bus lines and one block to bicycle trails that connect to downtown and to regional trails. Hardware store, cafes, bars, Seward Co-op, river, parks and yoga...all within walking distance! "
  • Nicholas O.
"Great neighborhood! Close to downtown and very little crime. Quiet and peaceful even being so close to the LRT and Franklin Avenue."
