6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhittier is a wonderful place for kids and parents of all backgrounds! Parents and teachers work together to help guide their children through the awkward social years typical of this age group. I think it's great that they take advantage of the advanced classes offered, the connection with OU, Moore Norman Technology Center, and other local community resources like School Bell, etc. I appreciate this great school, how hard the teachers are working for our kids, and that you can communicate with the administration when you have a concern giving them a chance to intervene. My son had a great experience there, he was part of the band program, loved many of his teachers, and had good friends that lasted all through his high school years. He was well prepared for high school and then excelled at OU. My only criticism was that kids would misbehave on the bus sometimes, not a new problem!Parent Review3y ago6 Reviews - Norman North High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has put me through hell and back. Didn't do anything about my friends and I getting sexually assaulted by a guy and blamed it on us. Another thing is a guy walked up to my best friend clearly drunk and threatened to kill her, nothing happened. They actually got mad at us for sticking up for ourselves. This school has no remorse for anything that happens and just want to keep their grand ol' image.Student Review5mo ago8 Reviews - Truman Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI couldn't ask for a better school, better staff or better administration. I was warned about this school before my daughter started there because it was so large but I can tell you as a substitute teacher there and as a parent, the school is a wonderful place for my daughter to get her education. Teachers and admin don't get enough credit for all they do, at this school and at others.Parent Review7y ago3 Reviews - Truman Primary School

"We have a park just down the street, our kids play basketball in the street and ride bikes together after school. Neighbors look out for each other. Lots of young families and within a 15 drive to downtown Norman, grocery stores, pharmacy and schools . I’ve never felt more safe and cared for in a neighborhood "

"Saturday morning farmers market and Main Street art walks, Norman music festival, jazz fest, and more downtown. There’s a good food scene. Tacos los gauchos has the best queso birria, tamashii ramen house has amazing ramen, sweet basil, volcano sushi Tuesday specials, neighborhood jam.. the list goes on. Dog parks, the health club gym, and friendly people. We love it here. "

"Norman has public transportation that operates on a set schedule with many convenient stops throughout town. The only problem is if you live in an outlying area, like I do, where the nearest pick up location is about 3 miles away. I commute to OKC everyday, takes about 25 minutes in morning traffic."
