William Parkes (he was the architect of the second grander Raymond Hotel (built 1901- demolished in 1934 because of the Great Depression), Throop Polytechnic Hall (built 1892) on the Caltech Campus, and other Pasadena historical sites such as the Thaddeus S.C. Lowe mansion). 31 W. Bellevue is considered a historical home by the Design & Historic Preservation Section of the Pasadena Planning Department. In 1991, the interior was converted to a medical office space, although the exterior of the home has been preserved as Parkes originally intended. The property has been designed by Parkes as a duplex and includes a parking lot for 10 cars. This property is in a bustling business district and one block away from Huntington Hospital, making it ideal as a doctor's office (not a home). This property is in a prime Pasadena real estate area.
