Description

Beautiful and private one-bedroom flat on the Kensington / Berkeley border. Lots of natural light, especially with the morning sunrise. This is a ground-floor unit (there are a few stairs going down to the entrance). It includes a wonderful little patio/garden that has a stunning view of the surrounding canyon and majestic oak trees. The wood-paneled living room has a unique built-in floor-to-ceiling display cabinet with glass doors. The gorgeous kitchen has a breakfast nook with a huge picture window.

Located on a very lovely small and quiet street, in one of the East Bay's best neighborhoods. It's a 2-block walk to the heart of Kensington, where there are some great restaurants, grocery and hardware stores, bus stop, coffee, etc. A very short drive to UC and downtown Berkeley, and even closer to Solano Ave, El Cerrito Plaza, and Gourmet Ghetto.

The home is all-electric. Pets may be considered (additional deposit required). Street parking is free and usually available; off-street parking spot is available for an additional fee.

From a recent long-term tenant:
"This apartment is a beautiful place to live. There is a lot of privacy, and there are no street sounds. You wake up to the sound of birds and enjoy beautiful golden hours in the kitchen. The unit itself is adorable and unique--not like the run of the mill plain apartments. It feels more like living in your own private cottage in the woods. There is also virtually no sound from any upstairs neighbors."

WiFi, Water, hot water, garbage service included; tenant pays electric bill.

"I grew up on Oakvale Ave & Domingo, and even as a kid I felt that Claremont was the best neighborhood ever: so many families, with genuine community spirit, and all kinds of beautiful, secret places to explore (safely). Now that I’ve lived in Palo Alto, Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Manhattan—and raising my own three children in Brooklyn—it’s clear to me that this neighborhood is a uniquely special, sometimes magical, place to grow up. I wish I could move it to Brooklyn!"
