"Nice clean safe neighborhood, no traffic jams. You can most things at local stores in town. Winter is cold and summer is nice. Biggest issue we've had was with getting contractors to do repair work on our house, many in that field are charlatans as well as overpriced. Be prepared to do things yourself. "
  • Victoria Jade
"It is too busy to walk your dog on the streets. You would have to drive to walk your dog. You cannot walk in the sidewalk bc there is none"
  • Lynn_lynn69
"There’s a dog park near and a great place to raise a dog. Petcostore close by as well which is nice. "
  • Tishcs1
"Very pet friendly neighborhood. Walking trail near by. The school property has a nice large field to let dogs run. Nearby the town has a pool and tennis courts with a smaller field to play with your dogs."
  • Lori F.
"Oneonta and Otsego County have two great Colleges. big city type businesses with small town charm. school system is solid. near Cooperstown Baseball Hall of fame. "
  • John L.
"It is a friendly and safe neighborhood. People obey the leash and pooper clean up law. There are no leash parks for dogs to run free."
  • Sassiemaefrass
"Not everyone has a Leash on their dog when outside. But it’s always been fine. Things are usually pretty quiet and private."
  • Mels3oak
"We are walking distance to down town, restaurants, the park & hospital. Neighbors are very friendly and have become like family. We have lived in this area for 10+ years & love it."
  • Alicia D.
"Dogs are definitely all over the neighborhood all the time. Not a lot of yard space within the city, obviously but very friendly and accepting people"
  • Keenamonae
"Oneonta sucks, if you want to move here... DON’T. There’s deer running wild at night. If you have small children, under 3, there are no dentist for them. No real career opportunities, just restaurants."
  • kdniles28
"I have lived in this neighborhood for three years now and I love it!!! My street is centrally located but is still a very quiet residential neighborhood with no college students. Quite frankly I believe Hazel Street the best street live on in the entire city of Oneonta!"
  • astorsteven
"I just purchased a home in Oneonta, moving from the NYC area. I was looking for a better place to raise two kids and so far, I am very happy. Very friendly, safe area with plenty of privacy. "
  • Duke
"Excellent access, easy walk to schools and colleges."
  • estrany
"A wonderful area bordered by protected wetlands. Enjoy the convenience of easily accessible I88 and shopping, healthcare facilities, colleges, and recreation. Public transportation is available from here with scheduling with Oneonta Public transportation. Beautiful land and gardens. "
  • Tom T.
"Oneonta is a wonderful place to live with 2 colleges that provide a variety of cultural events and a very stable economy. Lots of things to do from sports, community activities, music, and theater. "
