4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend that any child attend this school. This school is unsafe and dangerous for children, as there is no punishment for bullying. We are new to this area, and my 7th grader was assaulted in the bathroom during PE by a student much larger than him. My son reported it to the counselors and principal and they did nothing. He was afraid to return to school because they would not suspend or expel the student who attacked him. In the end, we had to homeschool our child for the rest of the school year. When we mentioned not bringing our child back to school, the principal (Seana Condit) was only concerned about him missing state testing. The teachers, staff, (Ms. Nikki/Mr. Nahal), and Principal Mr. Wilson are truly amazing and dedicated to each of the students. My sons are special needs in a mainstream class and at times have needed extra support and I have always left a meeting or event knowing East Ave. had my sons best interest for success at hand. We will miss East Ave. next year as my son's move on and just wanted to Thank East Ave. for such a great time building authentic genuine relationships we have made over the years. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my children have excelled at Hayward High. My daughter is now entering her sophomore year at UC Berkeley and my son is definitely UC bound. Their AP program is excellent and prepped my daughter well for the academic curriculum at Berkeley. "Fairview is a beautiful area, but we have an unusually high percentage of retired folks. Most are friendly and great neighbors, but there is a group of bullies that like to cause problems with the working age residents. If you chose to buy a house here, meet all your potential neighbors before you make that offer."

"Drive ten minutes to work. There is some traffic on Kelly Street and cross streets heading towards 580. There is also quite a bit of traffic on Castro valley Blvd and Redwood road in the mornings and afternoons. "

"We've lived here since 2008 and we've loved every minute of it. The neighborhood is quiet, clean and safe. We never had any accidents in five years, the neighbors are excellent, there is no traffic (just residents), and the views are amazing. Most homes have been remodelled and the yards look nice. It's a real pleasure living here. And highways are just a couple of minutes away"
