What Locals Say about Western Hills North

  • Joey R. A.
"We moved to this neighborhood in 2015 from another state. 5 years ago it was a good, quiet neighborhood for young families. In the last few years however things have gone down quickly. Multiple car break in’s monthly, our car windows were shot out, police patrol often. I would no longer recommend Texas newcomers to this neighborhood."

  • Jessica W.
"The schools are subpar as are the neighborhoods. 90% of the teachers and staff are not interested in bettering the children but simply sliding them on to the next. My son is now, after 3 years in the Western Hills schools, getting the help for his mild autistic needs. No one felt that his testing should be redone despite my ademant pleas and constant verbalization. No community connections or sense of pride"

"I never see anyone walking their dogs and I don’t blame them, I don’t feel the safest in this part of town."

"People have lived in this neighborhood for years and it has maintained it’s value. Needs more speed bumps and pedestrians signs"

"It’s in a higher crime area. Homeless population seems higher than in other areas. Most neighbors are friendly."

"we dont have any in my area. it's pretty boring out there if I do say so myself. potlucks and get togethers would be good fun. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood since 1989. The neighbors are friendly and watch out for each other. There is a bit of a rough element from the Many apartments that are nearby but I am not sure that it is any worse than other areas. This location is close to everything. You can be downtown in minutes and to the store quickly. there are two schools in the area if you have children. You are close to the loop and the interstate and several other major roads. This neighbor hood is turning over as younger families are moving in."

"It's a great neighborhood with great neighbors, but the surrounding apartments and resulting criminal activity make this a not-so-safe place to live, especially with young children."

"I do consulting in the area and intend to buy some rental properties in this area. It is a stable, solid working class neighborhood that is on a come-back. "
