"Established community with a wide range of activities, good schools, great golf course and still fairly quiet. Keep in mind that kids are getting older so traffic and noise can be a bit much on the weekends."
  • Travispturek
"Good schools and opportunities for involvement are everywhere, if you’re willing to look for them and make time for it!"
  • Jonathan P.
"To downtown: 13 mins of lights the. All interstate. Toll road is available as well to make the commute 35-45 mins"
  • Ru M.
"There are a lot of walking paths to walk their dogs. There is an abundance of trash bag stations for their dog waste, as one walks around the neighborhood."

"Movies on the Green during the month of May. Monster Mile for Halloween for kids. Lots of community event for the entire family "
  • Denise E. g.
"The backyards are not pet friendly and most of the residents have pets. I love m y pets so I am considering moving away to a neighborhood that has bigger lots with the homes. I do like the community towards animals. They are very loving."
  • Travispturek
"Great schools, great pools, parks, and activities around the community. Great place to have kids! Shopping and plenty of sports around, as well."
  • Travispturek

  • claudia p.

"I have lived in 3 different homes in this neighborhood and love it! It’s middle class to upper class residents. Everyone takes care of their property and the neighborhood is pristine! Great place for all ages. "
  • jcasmir
"Lantana is one of those places where families dream of raising their kids. The amenities within the community are top notch, and the neighborhoods are filled with upper middle class families who for the most part are all looking for similar things out of life. The trails, parks and ponds all offer great places to spend the day, or get a good workout in. At any given time you'll find all of the aforementioned bustling with members of the community, most of which seem to have a pet tagging along. Incoming residents should know that there are a few things to be concerned about within the community, but they're minor in nature for the most part, such as the labyrinth of roads throughout the area. Unless you live directly off the main road (Lantana Trail) it can be somewhat confusing to get around, and while that is somewhat of a pain, it also acts as deterrent for criminals. There is simply no easy way in or out of the interior communities. Something else to consider is the fact that there is no real entertainment to speak of within a relatively short drive. What I think stands out the most, though, are the extremely high taxes. We have one of the highest rates in the state and country. When all taxes, annual assessments, and HOA dues are considered, Lantana tops out at more than 3% annually in unavoidable expenses. And while much of these taxes are meant to provide quality schools for our children, it seems as though the schools still constantly have their hands out looking for additional funds due to a lack of supplies. And yes, I have heard the misnomer mentioned about the fact that we don[t have state income tax in Texas, and thus the high rates, but there is no state in come tax in Washington state either, and their tax rates top out at just about 1/3 of ours. So, if you're looking for a suburban lifestyle for your family it doesn't get much better than Lantana. Just come prepared for some of the things that come along with that dream. Welcome to Lantana, TX (LTX)!"
