My child had many positive academic experiences at Tyler Run Elementary School, and several teachers were supportive and effective. The academics are strong, and students clearly learn a lot here. That said, our overall experience was mixed.We did have a significant issue with one teacher whose approach toward my child felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which negatively affected my child’s experience. While this was not representative of every teacher, it mattered and should not be overlooked, especially at the elementary level where social and emotional development is important.I am also concerned about how student information has been handled. I recently discovered that lists of elementary students who scored 100 percent on either the Reading or Math sections of the Ohio State Tests were publicly posted online for both 2023 and 2024. These documents included student names, schools, grades, and test subjects. My child’s information was included, and families were never notified. As of this posting, the files remain live and publicly accessible. Learning this as a parent was deeply troubling.Tyler Run has many strengths, but I hope the district improves communication, transparency, and how sensitive student information is handled so families can make fully informed decisions.

My son studied in this High School for 4 years and enjoyed his time and now in Ohio State University to become graduate Buckeye. This school also educated us a lot in this process.
