7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLady's Island schools should not be the first choice for anyone moving to the Beaufort area. Beaufort is for rich and retired persons who do not have children in the school system. Lady's Island schools pretend to be schools. They are filled with transient teachers who do not care about SC state schools because they are not native to the state. I am from the midlands and it was a shock to us all how backward the schools down here are and they don't care that they are so far behind most US districts. Teachers lay out of work, bully the children, do not care about parent involvement, and they change administration faster that the tides. Our superintendents come from out of state, then they leave to take another job out of the state. The low country is a dumping ground for teachers not wanted in their own states, then a stepping stone for those wanting to get experience without ties so they can leave as soon as they get their year in. Our kids are the ones who actually get left behind. This system is the reason SC is 49th in the country. The midlands and upstate schools are great. Here they are lacking a great deal and they know it, but they are not from SC so they don't care.Parent Review11y ago4 Reviews - Beaufort High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is absolutely horrible, so bad I wouldn't even wish my worst enemy to attend it. I have found mold and insect parts in the school food constantly, it takes forever for the school to fix its facilities, and the admin are disrespectful to students to the point that they cry and don't do a single thing for the safety of the school. There is mold in ceiling tiles, vents, and air conditioning. There is a roach problem, and there is an excessive vaping problem in the school. This school feels more like a prison than a highschool, and I can only wish that they would wake up and take action about it.Student Review6mo ago1 Reviews - Lady's Island Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlthough others may think the school system is good it’s not really all that good, as a current student the teachers don’t pay enough attention, the students fight, yell, kick, play, etc. and the teachers don’t do anything. There are some nice teachers but most of the teachers can get mean. One of the teachers shoved a student. There was a rat in the ceiling. They are currently missing a tile because of one of the students. The only thing really great are the guidance counselors. They actually care and helped me through a lot when i needed it so thanks to them. Other than that everything else is okay. I wouldn’t say the school is the safest, there’s a lot of violence and gang activities. The school is good at welcoming students and parents though. Some teachers are really good at what they do though. I wouldn’t recommend this school unless you were desperate.Student Review2y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 3 & 1 Sunset Blf.

"I’m not a dog owner but yes dog owners would like it here. There are many places to take your dogs to explore. "

"Very quiet neighborhood, a few children, not many. Historic homes, double piazzas, ceiling fans turning, nice people, allee of live oak and Spanish moss drape from the trees. There is a lot of care on maintaining homes and gardens making this section of town lovely for taking evening strolls and bikes rides. You will hear a barred owl occasionally. Lots of birds in the early mornings, this is a paradise during migration. A quick walk to downtown. "

"Many dogs in the area. Most homes have dogs. There are many that bark, and a lot of people allow their dogs to walk off leash. This is a common practice and is acceptable to most people who live in the neighborhood. Others not fond of dogs may not like it here for this reason. "

"Willow Point is a small and friendly neighborhood where we all know each other and welcome others to join us on our front porches for chats or run into someone while walking around the pond enjoying the variety of birds that visit including ibis, blue herons, spoonbills, egrets, wood storks and many more. If you enjoy fishing or kayaking we have a day dock to launch from. Age range from infants to 80s. There is a monthly book club and mahjong. Community gatherings always special. Restaurants in Port Royal not to mention Cypress Wetlands and Sands Beach. "

"I feel all dog owners should keep their pets well under control and maintained and not be afraid or offended by me if I take justice in my own hands and way if the animals ever out of control and out of line towards me or my family period "

"The neighborhood I live in is not as adequately maintained and friendly as it used to be and should be at all the rental houses and the qualifications have changed and fell to slum low and that has changed the entire area and it’s wrong "

"Great friendly community with wonderful parks, waterfront activities and bike trails. Beaufort has a great collection of restaurants and shops. Views of the marshes, sound and inter coastal waterway are abundant. The history and heritage of the area dates back to the late 1600’s and early 1700’s. Many of the B&B’s are in historical homes."
