5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's a good school and has really cool teachers that are understanding and know how to teach. Tutoring is also available by almost any teacher and since I've taken 6 AP classes at this school, the teachers really prepare you for the test and make you practice almost every class, you will only understand if you pay attention. If you pay attention for the majority of the class, you most likely won't have to attend tutoring (which is always optional).Student Review1y ago - Rfk Community Schools-New Open World Academy K-12

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a reply to the previous comment. As a former student, Alumni 2013, Ms. Torres and Mr. Muralles are both very dedicated to their students and exceptionally helpful. Never met anyone so passionate about their students; they never stopped to fulfill our needs. The reason for Ms. Torres not being able to be reached is probably due to the tremendous amount of work she has on her plate. There are only 2 counselors in ASGL, and they have to work their butt off to counsel kids from Middle School(6-8th) to High School(9-12). Sorry to hear your bad experience, but this school has immensely improved academically. Shot-outs to the counselors and Mr. Bailey. -Former Student :)Other Review10y ago - Check out schools near 2961 W 8th St.

"It’s the city, so be aware of all of your surroundings. Be familiar with your route. Stay with your children at all times."
- Josue Gonzalez

"There is so much crime in this area a lot of homeless people I don’t think people can’t feel safe in this place "
- Kerry L.

"If the county would do something with the area, it will be much more suitable area for anyone to live. I am not a poor person even though they classify as the poorest area in Los Angeles. But I can tell you. They could definitely do a better job. But the police don't do nothing. It's gonna take community standing up to have something done."
- Trulia User
- Resident

"little green space, except for at the law school. few people pick up after their dogs. but there are a lot of dogs in this area that are very friendly and socialized"

"this place has many good things but there are many homeless people and they tend to take up sidewalks with their things. but they don't really bother anyone. "
- Elizabeth L.

"There's many people walking on the side walk at once and tgere isn't much space to walk a dog at a good distance from yourself. Also, several people tend to be scared of larger dogs here as they have children."

"Honestly, I don't mean to disrespect anyone but there is nothing unique about MacArthur Park any longer. Its not a safe place for children to grow up in and if you're looking for a calm place where you feel secure, then many of us who have lived here do not recommend it."
- Thetimeisgrey

- Thetimeisgrey

"You see people walking their dogs all the time here; mostly small dogs. It seems to be a pretty pet-friendly neighborhood. Although I would use caution walking after dark. "
- Jennifer O.

"Pico Union is in a great location, close to Silverlake, DTLA, Koreatown, etc. It’s definitely growing and is one of the last areas in LA that won’t cost you an arm to rent. That being said, it’s not the safest neighborhood. I don’t like being out after dark. Parking sucks so find a building that has it. "
