"Oakland Park is across the street from Wilton Manors, where I am now. The area is experiencing gentrification and public investment, so there are positive changes to the social environment. Dog owners will appreciate the numerous parks in and around the area where off leash areas allow dogs to socialize and run free. There are dog friendly beach areas, too, within a 20-minute drive. it's becoming a better place to live."

"Great city for the LGBT community in addition to everyone else. Some of the neighborhoods have Belle Meade (in Miami) type homes, but for about $75,000 less. Great place to find fixer uppers for investment."
