7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal is never available. You have to set up a meeting and once you have done sonyou will be igorend. The main office ES is very rude and unprofessional about her job. They are not here to help but to give opinions thats it. I sopke to her about situations with my sibling and she was saying that i was wrong. Did not let me speak to principal and didnt eve. Set up a meeting for me. This schoom assitance for parents is absolutely horrible!!!Parent Review7mo ago24 Reviews - Roosevelt International Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far our experience has been underwhelming. School started two weeks ago but they’re not learning anything yet, just going over endless rules. And they don’t offer gate for gifted students, just one accelerated math class. My child does like their teachers, at least.Another thing— our first communications from the outgoing principal were all about sixth grade camp the week of September 20th, and the kids were excited for that. However the incoming principal has just announced there will be no sixth grade camp (no explanation) and we did not even get a chance to fundraise to try to make it happen. It’s disappointing since my child’s peers at higher-income schools will get to go. And it makes me feel less excited about participating in fundraising events for the school since they didn’t want use funds for camp. Combined with the lack of learning and the campus being all torn up from construction, it just hasn’t been a great start to the school year for these kids.Parent Review10mo ago42 Reviews - San Diego High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is going into her sophomore year at SDHS. We weren’t sure what to expect last year, but we were so pleasantly surprised at how engaged SDHS staff are with the students. The school has a very active ASB, which my daughter is now a part of, and also has many student-led clubs, many of which focus on community service. She was also able to opt into the MedTech track, which is providing her opportunities to have real-life experience in medical venues across the county- they took a field trip to the “brain lab” in the spring! The student body is engaged in the athletics programs as well as having IB opportunities that remain available, we came from IB elementary and middle, so this was important. AP Spanish is on her schedule for this year, which is an incredible option for a 10th grader. The teachers and counselors have been responsive whenever I have reached out. I feel confident in sending my child to SDHS- and plan to have her younger sister attend as well. We are very happy there and see it as our best fit for her launch into college in a few more years.Parent Review10mo ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 2849 E 5th Ave.

"Flight path loud. Louder when it reverses during overcast or rainy weather. Everyone has a dog but they barely pick after them. Parking on street is hopeless. you will burn a gallon of gas before you find a spot to park on for the night. I regret moving here."

"I work in La Jolla and traffic going North bound sucks! However, I love where I live! I couldn’t ask for a more central location. My favorite part about living here is the cheap Uber drives to the airport and pretty much anywhere for that matter! "

"Some areas are not well lit. Some areas don’t have sidewalks. There are a lot of homeless people that come over from balboa park. Most of the time they are harmless. "

"I love the area. It’s a beautiful place to live. We can walk to balboa park, Little Italy. It’s close to downtown but not in downtown. Probably the best neighborhood in San Diego."

"We live in this area. The area is charming but once you live there you realize the safety issue. Also lots of fumes from vehicles and road work never ending. Noisy in some areas. Drunk people speeding in cars."

"I have lived in this area over 20 years. I think it is very important to support the local businesses, very easy in this area as so many of them offer high quality service. "
