"Family is here and been my hometown for years. Went to school here and always walked around town. We have fast foods, restaurants and gas stations "
  • Trulia User
"Maintenance of dogs stool. Have to be a certain distance from the building with the dogs to use the bathroom"
  • Barry Butterfield
"People do not walk dogs here. There are no street lights nor sidewalks. It would be very dangerous to walk along the road, especially at night. There is no public transportation. If you live here it is necessary to own a vehicle and have a drivers license. Most of the people who live here and the local politics are very conservative although new voices are beginning to appear. There is also a drug problem in the nearby town of Philmont. "
  • Manny Revuelta
"It is a very dog friendly neighborhood with many places to walk them and also a dog run. Dogs are welcome in most businesses and are treated like family "
  • Barry Butterfield
"Honestly if you do not have enough of your own property, there does not exist any public place to walk your dogs. "
  • Manny Revuelta
"It’s as close to living in NYC as it gets without the negatives. I have lived here for 4 years and love it."
  • Barry Butterfield
"No public transportation cars needed far from Albany where there are many jobs gas is expensive the ride to Albany is about 50 minutes. "
  • Frank V.
"Beautiful, quiet living in close proximity to Hudson cultural center. Lots of farms and beautiful greenery. Excellent farmers markets. Nice people. "
  • Kurt W.
"I can walk to the Amtrak station from my house, but I work remotely from home. There is also a public bus that provides transportation to Albany."
  • Chris W.
"I drive 40 minutes to my office in Great Barrington. It’s a beautiful drive with no traffic, unless you get stuck behind a tractor or a tourist."
  • Queenbxo812
"My moms lived here for 5 years it’s a quiet community. You can leave your door unlocked for the most part and not Have to worry about someone breaking in. Very friendly people. "
  • Erica S.
"This town can be hectic but overall it’s ok I’ve lived here my entire life so to me it’s changed but to newer people it’s a very nice place "
  • Kurt W.
"people work hard here and have a lot of pride in Hudson. We know we have something special here and we'll do whatever we can to keep it special."
  • LoneLion
"It's eclectic and gentrified, From whaling and international trade in the 18th century, to cotton mills and brick yards in the 19th century, to cement plants in the early 20th century, industry has risen and fallen. After a long steady decline, the last 30 years in Hudson have seen a remarkable and elegant transformation, thanks in no small part to the influences of my home city, 120 miles to the south. Hudson’s current renaissance started in the ’80s when antiques dealers and artists rediscovered the area and started opening up shop. There are now dozens of antiques stores and galleries along Warren Street, all of which have attracted similarly creative retailers and residents. As diverse as the architecture is, there’s a consistency, thanks in part to the city’s original grid layout of 50- by 120-foot lots and the general uniformity of the buildings’ scale. Hudson fulfills its promise as an escape: verdant hills, roadside farmstands, hawks and eagles overhead. It’s home."
  • Kathylovesdessert
"This is a small town with, for the most part, friendly neighbors. Things are close enough that if you don't have a car, you can walk to stores, churches doctors offices & the hospital. "
  • Katosha C.
