"We have a summer party, meeting of owners, people talk to each other when walking their dogs, great restaurants"
  • Knarikfasulyan
"We can go for walk with kids and feel safe. Also we love to walk to the Virmond park it’s our favorite park. Not too far from me is dog park also. Love everything about Mequon! "
  • James R.
"Lots of dog lovers/owners live in our area and we see them very frequently walking their dogs on the streets and many footpaths in close proximity to our home. There is a converted rail Ed footpath immediately next to our residence building and it extends for several miles in each direction( north & south, connecting with innumerable streets and other neighborhoods we are walking distance to the newly developed river walk and the large riverfront village park where public festivals are held each summer and Fall. Manrestaurants are within one mile or less from our home from burger and pizza places to haute cuisine, Zagat-rated restaurants with excellent wine lists. Very broad range of offerings. "
  • Loraehmke
"It’s close to milwaukee but feels like the country. Big yards, space, nature. Lots of amenities nearby. Lower taxes. "
  • James R.
"Great schools and lots of park options, but understand this is a more rural city spread out over about 48 sq. mi. So you’ll be driving the kids to many places and we’re my kids still young enough to to use their bikes, there are a number of busier or faster-limited roads on which I would be skittish about allowing them to ride without immediate adult supervision. BUT... there are many high-end subdivision which favor lower speeds and have a more tranquil, quieter and more peaceful character"
  • Vetsgo
"Friendly. Safe. Clean. Neighbors look out for each other. Crime low. Landscaping is well maintained. We take pride in our homes!"
  • Lilmike_89
"Great place to raise your children! Mequon schools are some of the best! Very safe and quiet neighborhoods, very friendly people. I would definitely raise my family here. My wife went to all the mequon schools and has nothing but great things to say about them. "
  • James R.
"There’s a healthy Community “pride” in the vast majority of Mequon’s neighborhoods. It’s still a semi-rural city more than a “sub-urban” city with roughly 40%of the geography in farmstead p try operatives or estate-sized parcels of a 5-acre minimum. Some high-end subdivisions, but not the mass-production type, with McMansions, found in over-developed areas with low architectural standards such as those based only upon high square footage minimums, not character of construction execution."
  • Doug A.
"Great family community. Lots of Smart kids. Schools are the best. Affordable, a little countryside. Great parks nearby and sports too."
  • Halloran265
"Safe streets. No fear of dog being hit by cars. Recent activity of coyote might be troubling. Nicely kept lawns. "
  • Geraldine K.
"There is no public transport in Mequon. All commuting happens via car. If you want to take a bus, you need to go to brown deer."
  • Bobnorm65
"Shared courtyards, low traffic. Lots of kids. Close to Milwaukee river - easy walk. Close to Rotary Park and Thiensville. "
  • Cherry52
"you need a car ozaukee taxi for elderly even the grocery store and restaurants need a car Lyft will come low crime uber will come nor congested at all"
  • RN
"Our neighborhood is made up of courts - each of which has a shared green space for all in the surrounding houses. Great amenity for families and kids. "
  • Marjorie0503
"Great schools, parks, and community. The best place to raise children. A true gem, the best in the north shore. "
  • Jjasinowski26
"It’s a small, quiet subdivision. Lots of younger families with kids moving in & everyone is very friendly!"
  • Sammyyliu
"Very nice area good neighborhood, safe school, good church and community. The side roads are well maintained and I see police cars patrolling around. "
