    "it's okay, the crime is growing though, I'd say stay out of California. the laws here keep the police from doing their jobs. "

    "We used to live in Susanville, but moved for employment. It is a decent small community with good access to Reno, and decent roads to Redding in the summer. You can get involved as much or as little as you like. Over all it is a safe community, but the prison does attract some crime elements. It is a beautiful area, with plenty of outdoor activity options. Good Boy Scout troops and churches. You won't find the nightlife like the city, but you won't find the all of the headaches either. Employment can be a challenge unless you have or are able to get a government job. everything else is mostly low-wage retail."
