"Car is necessary in this rural city. The whole city is not too big, but it is in a rural setting thus a car would be needed to get around. As far as I know, there hasn’t been any buss service here in all of the 25 years since I moved here. "
  • Jmhjunebug1989
"A lot of families in the area home life matters the most so how you raise your children is the biggest influence. Everywhere you go you have a good and bad influence. I do wish we had better education in West Virginia. I wish the kids were more involved in wanting to learn, but there is plenty of parks. Friendly people compare to city area. Gradually finding more activities to be involved as a family may have to travel half hour to an hour for shopping, but it’s not impossible. I like the area I live here my whole life."
  • Tamy wilson
"There are alot of dog owners and dog friendly people in our neighborhood, and if your dog gets out for whatever reason, everyone will help get it back. People pick up their dogs waste and do well with keeping the neighborhood clean. "
  • Rlmoses66
"There are lots of walking paths and a lake for walking and also lots of owners walking dogs in neighborhood "
  • Tamy wilson
"My neighborhood has great access to grocery shopping and retail shopping (10-30 mins away depending on where you want to go). Also, great access for commuting for work. "
  • Tamy wilson
"My neighborhood is close to grocery stores along with about a 30-40 min commute to leesburg. We are close to parks and dog parks and there are river areas nearby as well."
  • Tamy wilson
"This area has lots of neighbors that watch out for the kids and will usually speak up if something isn’t right"
  • Jerseydana
"The neighbors. Everyone is very nice to each other and helpful. It’s the safest neighborhood I’ve ever lived in."
  • E J Petty
"This is a very dog friendly neighborhood. People walk the dogs all the time. However, sometimes they don’t pick up after their dogs in common areas or seldom there is a pile in my yard."
  • Apagroh
"Large lots and low traffic on the roads. Large, dog friendly park five minutes away. Mountain trails and C&O canal provide other safe pretty places to take a walk. "
  • Schristianhorse
"It’s nice with plenty of walk areas for exercise. And we have a dog park. People respect the leash law also. "
  • Dianatrevino8302
"Just moved to the area, and it’s so pretty. People drive fast around here. Everything you need is close by."
  • duce13_2000
"There’s nothing going on here. Except for the Holidays. People do a great job decorating, especially for Christmas. "
  • Lawandaford
"We lived in this neighborhood for 13 years and LOVE IT!! quiet and very friendly would recommend this neighborhood HIGHLY!!!"
  • Tambria W.
"Heatherwright04 Makes it sound like conservative neighborhood is a bad thing, it’s not this is a wonderful area and the people in this neighborhood are friendly and nobody cares a hoot about your political views. That’s called a great neighborhood with diversity…"
  • Duce13_2000
"I live in this neighborhood for the past two months and love it! The neighborhood is very well kept and people are nice and friendly!"
  • Haven A.
"nothing to not like.. the neighborhood is family and pet friendly.. i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well maintained neighborhood "
  • Apagroh
"Becoming more of a DC commuting area but still has a good rural feel to the people and area. If you want strict zoning and harsh HOAs stay in the city. Your neighbors here mind there own business and want you to mind yours. However they are kind, will help out in a second and are open minded. "
  • Theunknowntxtr
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 21 years, and it is unique in that for the state of WV it is an upscale neighborhood. In fact the whole Eastern Panhandle is upscale compared to the rest of the state. "
  • Tammie S.
"the dog owners dogs are either on a leash or in a fenced in yard. Sam Michael dog park is about 3 miles away. it's a wonderful Life. "
  • Primergrey1975
"It’s a pet friendly place, most yards are fenced in. There are many private places to take dogs as well as dog parks"
  • Marcusgill20
"There is a farmers market downtown every weekend as well as local fresh produce.Parks and recreation offers a wide variety of activities for community members young and mature. There are youth sports leagues for soccer, football, baseball etc. There are often festivals in downtown Charles town on the weekend. There is a great small library. This is A historic area with battlefields and historic landmarks. Lots of things to see and do"
  • Crystal J.
"Everyone pretty much stays to themselves, very quiet even though it’s tons of kids. Not much to do in the area, schools are just okay. Main thing going for the area is cost of living is affordable. "
  • Magzwv
"Ward and June Cleaver 40s/50s neighborhood! Very Quiet, yet walking distance to the Casino and all the downtown shops, restaurants, and the seasonal farmers market! It’s perfect!"
  • Alyssacarter42
"It’s a small town but still has a lot of things around to do & is still close to everything you would want to go & do "
  • Eric P
"Hour and a half expensive commute. However I enjoy coming through the mountains to get home and the picturesque countryside. "
  • Pat H.
"THe area is close to shopping and grocery stores but requires a vehicle to get there. "
  • Heatherwright04
"Conservative town, not a lot of diversity, schools are going downhill quickly. Don’t move here unless you can’t afford to live elsewhere."
