8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son was bullied at Emblem Academy both physically and emotionally. Despite multiple eye witnesses to the bullying who reported issues, the administration did nothing much about it. The bullies kept on bullying and more came out the woodwork to bully my son because they could see how there were no consequences to bullying. This school is a haven for bullies as they will be protected while the administration tries to intimidate the victims and their family. The administrators of this school will try to sweep the bullying under the rug and victimize the victim.Parent Review2y ago - La Mesa Junior High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAOC has to rethink its policies and create a student-focused school environment and it especially needs to readjust its policies and treatment of special needs students. There is too much unnecessary homework at this school. The instructions are confusing, sometimes conflict, and the instructions change without email notice to the students. Most weekends and holidays have to be spent doing homework and projects and studying for tests for AOC and COC classes. There is not much free time or time to develop a students' individual interests and goals that would help them in their college applications. Too much group projects where some of the students try to dominate and mistreat others and/or do not do their fair share of the work. Some of these students even use profanity and encourage each other to do sex and drugs in group texts. The large clique of group of students exclude and bully some of the students. Some of the teachers can be rude, mean, and incredibly unjust in their policies. A teacher even made threatening comments to students. But not much is done about issues when it's reported. In order to even attend this school, special needs students' parents have been required to sign away their rights to special needs services such as speech and language therapy or resource therapy. AOC sometimes does not follow the IEP accommodations such as extra time that is stated in their IEP (as is mandated by IDEA law) during the regular school year or summer school. For example, during the Summer Honors Geometry, students with special needs were not granted extra time as stated in their IEP and they felt forced to drop out of this class when they worked so hard to qualify for this class (when they got As in Honors Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 2/ Trig classes that they had to take prior to Summer Honors Geometry. This summer geometry teacher emailed that even if a students fails one test the student would fail entire geometry course (even because of an illness or internet issues). In fact they got all As in their classes were not allowed to move onto COC precalculus in the fall (whey they qualified with their A grades and COC algorithm for math) and now are forced to take regular geometry over the school year (because AOC does not have summer geometry over the school year) where they are not being given complete test reviews with problems and solutions (as the rest of the math classes are for AOC or other jr. high and high schools in the district have been given)Parent Review2y ago - Golden Valley High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur overall experience has been great and couldn’t be happier. When we moved to Santa Clarita Valley, we contemplated on sending our children to private schools, but got to find out the public school system in this valley is as good as private schools. The Principal, Mr. Frias , and staff are wonderful. I have yet to see a person that works harder than the Principal. He is the first at school and the last to leave. He is always at the activities that mostly end around 8 pm.With almost 2,000 students, it’s amazing how the staff manage the environment. The facilities are modern as the school was built about 20 years ago with state-of-art classrooms, auditorium, library, gymnasium, and laboratories. The school is located in a cul de sac which makes the environment safer. My older son graduated with a 4.6 gpa and was actively involved in several activities as a member of GV Honor Society. He is currently in a four year college with a 3.6 gpa studying computer engineering. This is a testament that he is holding his own in college and his grades at Golden Valley were not fabricated. My younger child is working harder to beat his record. Great job to Sulphur Springs School District and William Hart School District. The partnership between both school districts makes the experience wonderful. Thank you for hiring the best teachers and administrators. We will gladly recommend Golden Valley High School. Go GV!Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 26245 Prima Way.

"This is the only gated community in the Saugus zip code. It is an enclave of 91 homes on 1+ acre lots most of which have gorgeous views. The HOA is low and the benefits huge! Homes in this area do not frequently come up for sale, most who move here rarely move unless change of job and relocation, or downsizing after the children are grown and gone. Circle J Ranch Estates are a gem in the City of Santa Clarita."

"Like the sidewalks and parks. However especially with smaller dogs they cannot be left outside unattended , even in fenced yards because at least twice a year in our neighborhood a dog or cat is killed by Coyotes. Our next door neighbor lost a 25 pound little white dog overnight in their fenced in back yard to a coyote attack."

"Work from home so there will is no commute for me. However, Santa Clarita valley is very congested and the infrastructure was not designed for such a population. "
