Brown Ranch is not encumbered by any conservation easements; however, it is a prime candidate for conservation. Notable ranches bordering the property have been conserved, and as such, future owners of Brown Ranch are assured the Elk River Valley will carry its natural and agricultural integrity into the future. The ranch is located in northern Routt County, midway between Steamboat Springs and Steamboat Lake. The teachers don't care about teaching students, they are just getting a pay check so they can live near a ski resort. They would rather play than work. We left Steamboat because of the education system in Colorado. We found that Texas education standards are much higher and the teacher actually care for their students. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great for 80% of kids, if your children fall above or below the average, this school does not meet your needs. We have had two kids go through the school, both of whom were bullied very badly. The staff and principal/assistant principal did not follow up on any of it, and were annoyed at our persistence after our children were assaulted multiple times. Over the last couple of years, the talk around town has even been that parents could tell which kids were from this elementary school versus the other, by watching the children's show of respect. "This town is rural...very rural. No sidewalks and no small village. 3 Small restaurants within 5 miles. Very beautiful area with friendly people and lovely scenery. Two beautiful lakes top off this mountain paradise!! "
