    "Valle Crucis park is great for the family! There are great play areas for kids, walking paths, and fishing right on the Watauga River. There are great Mast General Store is an awesome place to visit with the family. There is a great beaf jerky shop nearby as well in Valle Crucis. There are 3 ski resorts within striking distance, plus lots of hiking. "

No place for service workers to live. Very congested with roadwork and tourists in the summer. Nice weather, but it pretends to be the Aspen of Dixie. Housing is same cost as California, but no jobs."

    "I have seen the High Country change tremendously since 2010. Itt saddens me that we cater mostly to tourists & so many summer residents are incredibly rude. No housing for middle income. It is a huge issue. Beautiful views & weather despite Mack trucks, Loggers, and constant roadwork & traffic. If you are uber wealthy & don't have to commute or work, it is the bees knees as any place would be."
