DOGE needs to get out here to Longwood Elementary School in Longwood. This school did a fundraiser nearly 2 years ago to built the children a large outdoor awning to cover their playground area. This would have been great seeing these hardly any playground equipment in the field for such a large bunch to students at once. The goal was $30k and they exceeded this goal. The children still have not received the awning nor refund of their monies as another year draws to a close. What happened to the $30k+? Not to mention, every few weeks they’re holding some sort of fundraising event. They hold these Scholastic book fairs that no one would engage in but they always seem to invite the parents or grandparents to the school on those days to eat lunch with their children as a way to get them to spend more money that the school can collect and ‘benefit’ from. Meanwhile you don’t see any direct benefits or changes being made around the campus. There’s no awning, although they swindled money from the children and their families years ago to install one, NEVER HAPPENED. It’s super sad that they took this money from the children and made/make no mention of the awning after the money was collected and it’s been nearly 2 years now. Bathrooms are rusty, cafeteria food is of poor quality, old dated equipment and supplies. Ant mounds and dirt patches all over the field where the children play. The place is super dated and ran down-It’s sad. There’s constant requests for the parents to donate items to the school, simple things like candy. Where does/did the money go? The principals pocket? DOGE needs to take a trip here! I would not recommend this school.

They let the Athletic Boosters run the school. Volunteers are roaming the halls at times when they shouldn't and doing things they're not suppose to do. The principal turns a blind eye to it because they bring in so much money. The only program that gets any support from the administration is the Athletic Program. If you have a student in languages, the arts, or any other academic program, don't expect to get any support from Dr.R....she will tell you what you want to hear and then turn a blind eye on what's happening. She doesn't care about anything or anyone other than athletics.

I just graduated the 8th grade at this school, I was only there for about 6 months, the staff was very rude to me since January most of the teachers looked down on me, I felt discluded, they would treat the loud kids with respect, i was a very quiet kid, but was always in trouble for something I didn't do, if you're trying to switch you're child to this school I would suggest you don't, unless you want them to be treated like I was treated.
