7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo the curriculum at this school is a hot mess ! Especially the science classes . Students that take regular standard science classes not honors not AP get similar curriculum . All the students are failing . Test are being failed . Students give up because they know they wont pass the test .Assignments are every where nothing aligns . Students survive in test retakes . So many students are struggling . I don’t see how the administration can’t see its right in their face they aren’t learning it’s to intense . Curriculum is way over the top . That’s why these students are not taking honors or AP courses . Not sure what GPS is trying to achieve . If I was starting my student in high school . I would look at other districts . Families I know that attend chandler school district are shocked when they see GPS - Highland HS assignments and mass emails for students failing !! Believe this is why many are attending to charters schools . Sports is also in the decline at Highland . More kids won’t be able to participate due to college or above curriculum. Run from this school . The Math department also struggles no one teaches . Don’t worry GPS just wants more students to take online classes to retake classes they failed. It is more money for them . Then they have Canyon HS to send your child to. So many parents at other districts do not receive mass emails for so many students ta failing to go to another school during fall break to bring grades up . Why not look at why all these students are failing !! How can you have over 5 plus student a all failing. Enter classes failing or class average on test barely a c or lower !! Don’t be blind sided by GPS and it’s Highland HS . It basically online teach your self . Assuming Highland HS graduation rate is actually lower than what they show . They send the students to Canyon HS .Parent Review1y ago17 Reviews - Pioneer Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Pioneer and the feeling of community there. Many teachers and staff get to know all the kids' names and make them feel welcome from the moment they arrive each day. Communication from most teachers is excellent, providing weekly notes about class and school activities and lesson plans, as well as prompt responses to private messages. There seems to be an appropriate balance between academic activities and fun brain breaks provided throughout each school day. The amount of homework assigned is enough to keep parents in the loop about what their students are learning, but not so much that it takes up the entire evening. Class sizes are small enough that we don't have to worry about our children getting lost, overlooked, or not getting enough attention. The campus is charming with a nice courtyard in the middle and inviting classrooms. My picky eater kids have been able to expand their palates by trying and enjoying menu items from the school cafeteria. The PTSO does a great job at organizing fundraising activities and then putting on free family events throughout the year. We sometimes wish there were more clubs and after school activities offered through the school, but understand the challenges of making them happen with such a small student body. Overall, we are so pleased that we were lucky enough to be assigned to such a lovely little school!Parent Review6mo ago45 Reviews - Highland Jr High School

"We love Finley Farms so much that after living in FF South for over 10 years, we moved to FF North to be a little closer to the school and so that we could have a bigger property with a pool. We've lived in the newer house for about 15 years. Many of our neighbors have become extended family. "

"Early morning commute and traffic usually flows well all the way to work in East Mesa. On occasion traffic infractions happen and traffic will back up rather quickly. "

"We’ve been here for 9 years and its pretty peaceful and not much traffic noise. You hear the train daily in the distance though its up against the neighborhood and they usually obey by not blowing horn close by. Farmers market is every weekend in downtown Gilbert plus theres plans to build more small retail as most places are restaurants. "

"There’s lots of kids on motorized bikes and small motorcycles in the neighborhood which is fine but some of the kids drive reckless and it can end dangerously for kids and pedestrians. Parents need to teach their kids to be more safety conscious. "

"This is Not a great neighborhood for kids/young families. While there are a few here it is mainly older people, families where the kids just left the nest or are leaving very soon and young professionals/couples with no kids. "

"The neighborhood is nice and the people seem friendly. There hasn’t been any reason to get out and meet people in the neighborhood like no block parties or anything like that. Most of the yards are kept, but there are a few that look horrible. This is a great starter home area for a young family."

"This is a great neighborhood. My mother in law and father in law were one of the first families to have a home bully here. It was built in late 1996. My father in law passed away just over a year ago and my husband and I moved here from Las Vegas to take care of my mother in law. We have a few neighbors that have become great friends that also purchased and had their homes built shortly after this home was built. Our new neighbors are wonderful as well and have become more like family than friends/neighbors. "
