5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePS 340 is an exceptional school in the Bronx! It offers rigorous and impressive reading, writing and math curriculums as well as many enrichment opportunities for students. All of the staff members are very welcoming and supportive of parents and their families. I looked up their achievement on state tests, and they perform better than other schools in the district. A wonderful school to send your child too!Parent Review3y ago9 Reviews - Ps 246 Poe Center

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has the heart! With the teachers and staff who have the strongest backbones and the biggest heart. I have witnessed some of our most challenging years as educators not only in our school community but in this country at large. Yet, we are still standing and thriving amidst this pandemic. Every single person from the principal to the lunch lady, from the teachers to the janitors want to see every single student succeed. The dedication this staff puts in every single day to show up for each student touches my heart on a daily basis. Everyone here is a true hero. The staff aren't just here for the jobs - they care for every student, as if they were their own child. P.S. 246 has really pioneered the importance of Social Emotional learning, especially during the height of the 2020 pandemic - when students, families and staff needed it the most. Everyday this school is looking to learn new ways of providing quality education and guiding resources for students and families to succeed. If you walk through the school doors, our art teacher painted the great words of R.B. Fuller, “There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly.” That is how we treat each person that walk through these doors. Everyone has so much unlocked potential, and we are here to stay and nurture the seeds of knowledge and watch everyone grow to their true and highest selves.Teacher Review3y ago3 Reviews - High School for Teaching and the Professions

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just saw a review from a parent. The same thing happened to me when I was an alumni 6-8th grade. I was always bullied by peers even threatened to get fought. And not to mention the 6th grade math teacher and volleyball coach she is a bully to any kid who has ADHD. I wasn’t diagnosed until 14. But you as an educator should know if a kid has a neurological disorder . Instead she use to humiliate me in front of class mates making me feel belittled. And let’s not also mention that one teacher assistant whose intimate video was leaked and she was having relations in the classrooms with the school uniform on . … one time this one girl tried to fight me following me after school but nobody believed me not even the vice principal . All because the student who was threading to fight me was a star student & athlete. They don’t care about kids getting bullied or hurt . Such an awful school I don’t know how people still enroll their kids hereStudent Review4mo ago2 Reviews - Academy for Personal Leadership and Excellence

"This area is very nice. I live in Fordham Terrace., until you walk across University into Fordham. Then youll see a lot of activity you may not be comfortable with. There are a lot of Hills and Parks. The major shopping areas are Fordham and Riverdale. Fordham has more of the major stores. But if you want to avoid a lot of traffic and lessen you chance of getting mugged you might want shop on Riverdale. "

"There is some crime and loud noise during the afternoon's and evenings. Devoe park and restaurants in the area tend to be rowdy. This area will hopefully improve overtime, but that time can't come fast enough. "
