About this House

Congress Park duplex built in 1906 when horse-drawn streetcars carried downtown commuters home to Congress Park neighborhood on tracks laid along 12th Avenue. This rowhouse is near one of the original streetcar stops (now RTD line 10), as well as two small commercial centers that flourished, and still present at 12th and Clayton/Elizabeth and 12th and Madison. This rowhouse still maintains much of its original character - hardwood floors -big windows - trim - brick - coal fireplace. A kitchen remodel in 2012 gives modern appeal to the small kitchen area at the rear of the rowhouse. A half-basement with washer/dryer and storage is accessed down stairs via the back porch. A well-shaded front porch above street level gives privacy and is excellent for watching 12th Ave. activity. A small back yard/patio has space for a few chairs and table, chiminea and garden. Walking distance to: Cheesman, Congress, and City parks, new rec center, botanic gardens, Tattered Cover, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Cherry Creek, Bluebird Theatre, and many historical landmarks throughout the neighborhood make this a good central location for dwelling in and exploring Denver.
