The house is a restored, charming Cape Cod style home. It accommodates three residents very comfortably. However, only one room is available (~7/22).
There are three large bedrooms (two up and one down), two full bathrooms - and one big, cool glass-block shower!
Well-designed, open spaces with lovely glass-block accents & nice views. Professionally finished natural-hardwood floors (Red Oak), mahogany molding, good closet-space, and great common areas. WONDERFUL KITCHEN with vintage cherrywood cabinetry, large island (actually, a peninsula), Retro countertops.
BIG LIVING ROOM & Family Rm/Dining Rm, recessed lighting, etc.
FREE washer/dryer, dishwasher, disposal & safe, small-flame fireplace - plus green-rated, energy-efficient central heating & AC, and upgraded insulation. Plus, money-saving HYBRID hot water system (SOLAR, in addition to natural gas). Up-to-date electrical, as well as copper plumbing throughout.
To complement the dedicated off-street parking, there are several honest mechanics right in the neighborhood!
LARGE YARD & GARDEN
Seasonal flowers and tasty, organic vegetables Tho there's NO PRESSURE to be a gardener!
Roses & raspberries, herbs, kale, green beans, tomatoes, and squash. Sometimes peas and sweet potatoes, as well as BACKYARD HONEY - and we'll again be devouring heirloom pumpkins after Halloween We usually have a pretty respectable pumpkin patch.
Just think, FRESH VEGGIES - right from your own backyard! (Editor's note: Unfortunately, we're forced to share some tomatoes with THIEVING SQUIRRELS who apparently never learned how to share! Thankfully, the ravenous rabbits and devouring deer have responded well to appropriate fencing.) We promise that we are NOT gardening fanatics!
Enormous numbers of excellent Hiking / Biking / Running TRAILS, all very close; some of the best trails & bike paths in Metro DC converge right in our neighborhood. Plus nearby Rec centers & Woodend NATURE SANCTUARY. There's even some amazing bird-watching We see goldfinches, chickadees, cardinals, woodpeckers, jays, and hummingbirds! We hear many SONGBIRDS... And one of our occasional visitors is an owl 'whoo' seems to have made the 'wise' choice to nest nearby (BTW, we're not bird fanatics, either We should enjoy these more, but sadly have all been too busy.).
Fun neighborhood restaurants - like Pacci's, coffee shops, crazy neighborhood events like listening to bagpipes practice at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Lots of shopping, including Aldi, and of course Snider's - one of the last neighborhood grocery stores with really fast check-out.
Don't forget the BIG YARD and spectacular GARDEN (NO PRESSURE to do gardening!).
A vegetarian would feel right at home, but we're flexible (One of the two current residents is vegetarian).
Oh, did we mention the Fantastic Garden? (It's okay if you're not into gardening; we're honestly not fanatics. However, the squirrels are testing us!!)
Our place is fantastic - and we think it's a good deal at $985 + 1/3 utilities
BTW, this space is CLEAN, SAFE AND LEGAL. We have an excellent relationship with our landlord who respects us - and our comfort & safety.
100% SMOKE-FREE / vape-free, drug-free, and sorry, NO PETS. Also, PLEASE NO SHORT-TERM or temporary rentals. (Sorry for the repetition; people continue to ask.)
