Ima student of Youngker highschool, I like my teachers and nothing bad with the school so far it’s going good but this review is about one of the teachers that are just completely treating me bad, first day I came in the teacher miscounted the seats and a girl got confused and sat in my spot, so her sitting in my spot I thought she was in the her right seat so I sat down, and the teacher didn’t say nothing to her at all, as soon as I sat down he decides to tell me “look at the chart that isn’t where you sit, your in highschool and you should be smarter then that”. Which is completely offensive to me. Now one day I was late for less then 30 seconds because I was using the restroom from my downstairs class. When I tried entering the class his arm went on my chest which is fine with me I got no problem with that because I’m not that sensitive, so he told me to go to sweep. The next day I came in class early and waited, and one girl came in 3-4 minutes late and he decided to do nothing about her and just said “you’re late”. Which is way different from the way he treated me. I also came in the class and was talking about why didn’t I go to sweep and I have a referral for ditching, and then a girl came after being late the same day I was and he didn’t say nothing to her. I don’t know I just feel targeted I can’t even focus in his class and I will say I do kind of almost end up asleep and he wakes me up which is good he can do that and he’s in the right but I feel like the girls are getting way better treatment then boys

I have had my children attending Blue for the last 4 years. While this year has been one of the best years with the new principal, there are still some issues that need to be figured out, mainly the bullying. While I do not blame the principal or teachers for how these issues are handled, its still hard to have my kid deal with them. If you look at the districts discipline matrix, the schools hands are tied by how harshly they can punish students for bullying and other issues. The district cares more about keeping the bodies in the seats so they get paid over the actual well being of the students that are trying to learn there. Seriously, it takes a lot to get a kid suspended, which is sad. Parents at this school are just as bad, there is zero accountability for their own kids bad behavior. I have watched parents yell at the front staff or the principals just because they had to pick their kid up early for their bad behaviors. Schools are not daycares, and parents need to do better to hold their kids accountable. Also, the dress code needs to be enforced better. The number of girls I see every morning dressed like they are going to a club and not school is not acceptable.
