3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have loved this school! The principal is wonderful and very involved. The teachers we have had truly love and care about their students. Every year I have been pleasantly surprised by the teacher-student ratio. Our children have loved their time at DRES!Parent Review1mo ago - Durant Road Middle

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers are very engaged with parents. Very safe school environment. My son went there all 3 years and never had any issues with the school. If you do look at charter schools, I would suggest you visit them to understand their environments which are very different in structure and diversity. We had no issues at Durant Middle School and found it a great experience.Parent Review1y ago - Millbrook High

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOutside of the IB programme, the classes are subpar at best. Students spend the majority of time sitting around on their phones or napping and not doing any work. Admin appears to support teachers but when it comes down to it, nothing changes. Students that need special services are often overlooked with so many coming from MS with IEPS but not having the same accommodations made here, or they are not being re-evaluated. Often, when asking about a student's needs being met and the possibility of them getting tested we are told that they are not attending consistently so it's pointless. There are WAY too many ways for people to go in and out of the buildings, and during class changes there are no adults monitoring doors. The school does not appear to value the teachers, or subs. Subs are routinely pulled from their assigned duty to take on a different class, which results in the school struggling to get subs at all. Overall, I would not recommend working here OR sending your child here.Other Review1y ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review2mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy
