Coming from a student it is a great school, but could offer students more freedom within the school. They keep adding restrictions that are making students feel controlled and sheltered. Schools are here to guide students into the rest of their lives but here we are not learning independence. If this continues students will not know how to be independent when they graduate. The teachers and resources at the school are amazing, and I have some close relationships with a good amount of my teachers.

The unparalleled positivity, approachability, and excellence of the principal and associate principal of Indian Mound Middle School trickles down throughout all the staff that we have had contact with. Our middle-schooler with disabilities has an incredible support system and is thriving thanks to this amazingly supportive school. Their use of Canvas for classwork keeps us in the know about exactly what is happening academically. Their balance of working social-emotional skills and communication skills into the curriculum shows in the students we’ve met. Also in our experience, with any concern there is reciprocal communication and proactive problem-solving between the school and parents. This is a great group of caring open-minded people with strong leadership.

Children at my school are often discriminated against for the way they look, act, home life, etc. I feel as if they often ignore key problems like students mental health, bullying and more, which is saddening. As a minority, i feel alot as if I have a "target" on my back. They teach fun, interactive lessons, but students are not excited about what their learning. They also provide outstanding special education. Students live to include "disabled" students in activites and games at recess. They provide little to none social/emotional support for sturggling students. Our school provides safe school grounds, but not saftey for studenta being bullied. They involve parents in everything! No complaints there! Kind of dissapointing, not gonna lie..
