About this House
I am offering a non-traditional rental situation due to my travel schedule this year. I would love to have someone reliable to help care for chickens, cat, garden, and home in exchange for housing at VERY affordable price (all utilities included and also open to work/trade if you are a handy person). The house is located in-between Wausau and Point (about 17min from both). This could be a great mutually beneficial situation for the right person!
A little about the space:
Built in the 1850s, my house was the local train station and post office! There is a lot of neat history that goes with it. It has all the quirks of an old home and renovation is continuous. I tend to several gardens, chickens, and aspire to grow as a little hobby farm some day. I have a small dog and a cat (unfortunately my dog doesn't get along with other animals, so no pets can join us).
Your Space:
Two small bedrooms. One room is fully furnished, and cozy. The second room is also fully furnished, but is not fully finished (ie no trim or carpeting yet) and some of the space is storage. Built-in closet in one room will be yours. You have full solo use of both rooms, as well as access to shared spaces. There is a shared bathroom for these two rooms (and an outhouse in the backyard, if so inspired), and both rooms are located on the second floor.
Shared Spaces:
Open concept kitchen/living room, big screened in porch, and outdoor space. Piano in living room. The house overall- somewhat rustic, homey, cabin vibes. My backyard is an expansive Wildlife Area, so LOTS of space to explore and do fun outdoor activities, and very close to water too.
House Rules:
Shoes off in house!
Keep shared spaces tidy
No big indoor parties
Must get the ok from owner (me) to have fires in outdoor campfire space and/or woodstove
Month to Month lease, Utilities included in rent, Internet additional cost. No pets due to animals already on property. Potential for lower rental fee in exchange for housesitting/handy-person work.
