4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is low performance in every academic way. There is no communication with the parents. Even if you tried to communicate, teachers don't . Teachers are still calling students names they shouldn't . Even the Principal doesn't take measure into his own hands. Kids are being bullied and nothing is being done.Parent Review9y ago - Oliver Wendell Holmes Humanities/C

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCalled my child gay and bulled he he was scared to tell me cause they said they will beat him up more and no body helps I have to check on my son every once in a while to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself.Parent Review1y ago - Franklin D Roosevelt High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff at this school generalizes the behavior of all the students. Some of the hall monitors pick and choose who they want to play around with and are completely disrespectful. I don't think staff is that great; they don't understand that the environment we live in really impacts us and how we interact with one another. Instead of being supportive, they cuss at kids and make them feel worthless. Not all of the staff does this, but it feels like the ones that do make us feel worthless are praised by our principal. Even the teachers who are kind and understanding get disrespected and treated like trash by both staff and students, but they don't escalate the problem. The staff who start off yelling and get attitude right back from students, however, seem to get the upper hand and create very unnecessary situations for them and the students. I do not recommend this school for parents who are in the area and looking for a good environment for their children; this is not the place. The school, even with all the rules that have been implemented, still gets looked down upon due to what the staff prioritizes.Student Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 2402 Alabama Ave.

"Every couple months a crew comes and tears up the intersection at one end of my block for a few months. Eventually they fix it, but a couple months later they come back. This has been happening for two years now. "

"If you don’t like walking your dog on a leash to you’ll fit right in around here. It’s not great because people like hauling it down side streets to avoid the constant construction that slows down the larger streets around here. But at least if your dog gets hit by a car it will probably die quickly thanks to the speed that people are driving. "

"You will 70% step on poop. Living in an apartment complex, there are plenty of owners who will allow their dog to defecate, pee and throw up in elevators and stairs. Irresponsible owners and sometimes untamed/unsocialized dogs. I would beware of coyotes and keep an eye out for scraps left by homeless people near the transit. "
